The other Exorcists near Rinari are unconscious, so they can't really tell. I'm just curious, since no one's ever commented on feeling Innocence before; they've mostly relied on sight to know what it is (like how Kanda asked what Allen's arm was when they were first fighting). Maybe Hoshino-sensei just changed her mind, though. ^_^ It was mentioned in an earlier chapter that there were many types of Innocence, but later chapters have implied that there are just two...

It could be that the Heart is two pieces. Having 109 pieces of Innocence always seemed a little odd to me... and it would explain the random events quite nicely without having to abandon those ideas so far through the manga and go with someone else.

Well Digi, I think that you are taking the statement of "many types" a bit to litteraly there. In general there are two forms of innocence, parisyte and item forms. The thing is you can break the "type" into what innocence does as well, in which case you would have 1)melee weapons 2)ranged weapons 3)healing powers 4)enhancement 5)misc support. The greater amount would be in the weapon catagories, but there probably are some in each. In additoin to the catagories, there also is the fact that some of them contain a "secondary" effect which may or may not be in the same catagory. Add in the two forms and your catagory selection is up to 10. So in a way she is right, depending on how you look at it.

As far as the Heart being in two places, I've been tooting that horn for a while now. I beleive that both Allen and Lenalee have a part of it, and that actually might be part of the reason they seem so attracted to each other. On that note, I will once again say this: I wonder if an Innocence can change from an item type to a paricyte type. Because that is what I think happened to Lenalee! ARG! Have to wait another week and a half for the next chapter!!!!

Yeah, in that sense, there are many different types, and that's what I think it meant. It just was confusing because the conversation was about parasitic vs. equipment, so having the idea of "many types" seemed to refer to more types besides those two (at the time, we'd just seen Allen's and Kanda's weapons). It was probably just a case of context... or maybe something that didn't translate well.

Allen and Lenalee are attracted to each other because of the Heart? xD That's such an underestimation of teenage horomones! =P It'd explain some of the weirder things about their relationship, though - why he knew she was crying when he died, and why she was somehow able to speak to him telepathically.

Chaoji IS the heart. That's why we saw such a HEARTwarming moment of his little life.

Ok, all horrendous jokes aside, like others I think Chaoji will die. But I think that General is somehow forcing the innocence onto the only person capable of fighting up there-Chaoji-and that will be the cause of his death. Either that, or one of innocences in his hands just happens to be compatible with Chaoji, which would suck.

Sense innocence? I think it's possible if it's really dense and concentrated? Like with Suman? I don't know. But it was bound to happen-this sensing business. It happens in most mangas. Reaitsu, chakra, generally sensing others' presence, killing intent.

I think Tiedoll just sent the Innocence up there because Chaoji is compatible. A non-Accomodator couldn't synchronize with Innocence at all - they'd immediately become a Fallen. Chaoji is apparently capable of using it, though. My guess is that the Innocence was reacting to the sailor when they were close, and Tiedoll just noticed this and was like "oh yay! Innocence GO!". Why would he be so interested in creating a Fallen when Chaoji is with FIVE Exorcists? (Rinari's Innocence is clearly working, as anyone nearby would have noticed.)

I don't think Innocence can really be "sensed" by anyone except maybe Hevlaska, which confuses me. It could just be that Rinari saw it and identified it as Innocence, and the wrong word was used in the translation. Everyone in D.Gray-Man seems to be quite limited to human abilities (Innocence excepted - but even Exorcists and Noah have human limitations), so none of this "sensing" crap should be going on.

Well, the five exorcists are already have innocences. And really, he's only with 3. The other two are MIA. So Chaoji is the only other viable option. Perhaps he is marginally compatible with innocence, having been constantly surrounded by high fluctuations of it or some shit. But I still think he may fall into fault. Wasn't the only other time they sensed innocence was with Suman who fell into fault? And Chaoji DID attack Allen, going against one of the strongest innocence users...even if in the end, that action was probably pro-innocence.

Then again, I'm just exploring very remote, unlikely possibilities. Something to think about, as suggested in the other threads.

Chaoji entered the Ark with five Exorcists, and that's when the Innocence entered, too (right after those five did). There would be no reason to suspect that Chaoji would be left defending the one whose Innocence isn't working properly. Also, Chaoji only attacked Allen verbally... that kind of thing doesn't seem to count. There is no conflict between Innocences, and that doesn't cause someone to fall into fault (Allen vs. Kanda, Allen vs. Rabi, among other instances).

And how can someone be partially compatible? You either are, or you aren't. If being around Innocence could make someone compatible, why haven't we seen the Finders or the Science Department using Innocence? People are just born that way, able to use it or not.

Did they sense Innocence with Suman? I think they thought it was an akuma until Allen and Rinari went closer and discovered that it was something else - Rinari recognized it as a togaochi because she's seen one before. And if they did sense it, well, Rinari was there again. =P

Well, first off, there were three sailors. If the general noted the innocence reacting with one, then he might of just thought that he would sort them out latter. When the got sucked up, well that is a diffrent issue altogether.
Secondly, who knows what ratio Chaoji has with the innocence? It could be around 10% for all we know. That might mean that sure, he's compatible, but not very and there might be someone more compatible out there. Fallens only occure when the compatibility is below 0%. That also means that he might not be compatable, but also might not be non-compatable (a.k.a. right at 0%) and therefore able to use some of its power. Also with the rest of the crew dead, he might of done the whole "I inherited their spirit" thing and gained the compatiblity through someone else that way. In short there are a whole bunch of ways he could of gotten it, but that is left to remain to be seen for how he did.

Also on the Allen/Lenalee romance/being the heart thing: perhaps it is because they are attracted to each other that their innocences became the heart (in short the heart can only form if two acomodators love each other)? The whole "telepethy" thing though Digi is done in several mangas and books out there where charactors share a deep bond and they just "know" when something bad has happened to their partner.

I thought they could be partially compatible. You know how Allen was like 83% synchronized? I'm saying Chaoji might be only 3% or something. And after that, well, things go haywire. Maybe I meant synchronization. And unlike Allen and Rinari, who are exceptional, Chaoji won't survive it going past his synchronization.

And I thought Chaoji pushed Allen or something...

But still, the only other possible time innocence was 'sensed' was when Suman fell into fault. Didn't Rinari say someone who isn't compatible falls into fault too during those human experiments? Perhaps, in just some last bid attempt of desparation, Chaoji and the innocence are working together (this is very skeptical) and he will fall into fault, killing himself in the process but opening up a chance to escape. After all, we saw that someone who has fallen into fault is a powerful adversary against hordes of Akuma, so worthy opponent for some hyped up Noah.

Oh, that kind... 100% is pretty rare, and hard to achieve, though. I don't see why Chaoji wouldn't have a more stable synchronization rate - if it was that low, he wouldn't be able to do so at all. Also, he'd still be compatible with the Innocence then. Having a really low percent means that it is more difficult to invocate (which is, I would assume, part of the problem with Rinari?), and he doesn't seem to have a problem with that.

Allen pushed Chaoji away from Tiki's attack, I thought.

I don't think Chaoji and the Innocence are incompatible... Rinari could have said that to show that it isn't an akuma (or because she's Rinari. When has she encountered Innocence being used when she doesn't expect it to be?). It also doesn't explain why Tiedoll would send the Innocence to the Ark. Becoming a togaochi is NOT desirable, and I doubt a GENERAL would send Innocence into a place where it would surely be destroyed. That goes against what everyone wants.

The romance is so cute. <3 I think there's something weird with the telepathy, though. It makes sense for the Komui-Rinari things (apparently, she knows when he's asleep and he dropped the mug when she was hurt), because they're related and are also close... but these things seem to relate to Rinari's dreams. There also haven't been any indications of a real relationship, just a strong friendship between two people who probably like each other but haven't said anything, or even realized it themselves. I think there's something else to that.

As for the Innocence being the Heart because of that? It was implied that the Heart already exists out there, though... maybe that's why they have that Innocence, though? Because of what is meant to happen between them? :3
