Thoughts on the Ark Arc

Was I unclear there? I meant that the plot and akuma should return AFTER they get out of the Ark, not during this one. =P I know that would make very little sense. I'm just fearing that the rest of the manga will be more drawn-out fight scenes instead of those short missions at any time.

I'm of the other group in that Death Note discussion, so I agree - not for this section.

I do think that this pure action has also leaned towards the pure good and evil sides; even while I was pointing out the blending of the two in characters like Crowley, people were against me and telling me that it was becoming more black and white. When it comes to Allen, that's pretty much true (and it doesn't help that his Innocence is white... according to Tiki, anyway).

Hmm...I seem to be the only one who's not annoyed by Rinari's change. Sure, she has become weaker and a stereotypical lead female, which I generally find annoying and hate-worthy but...

She's basically going through the same thing that happened to Allen. Allen got messed up badly with his fight against Suman/Tiki and so they had to leave him behind so that he could recover and become stronger and rejoin them. She basically did the same thing to herself but it just so happens that it was bad timing that she gets thrown into the fray while still in recovery. I mean, her freaking legs are bandaged up! She has a hard time walking!

I imagine though that if she gets through this then she may experience a similar power up to Allen so we'll see something funky with her legs just as we've seen with Allen's arms.

However I do agree that it is becoming typical shounen. However, the way it's been employed has been adequate for me. I especially liked Crowley's out of body blood form. That was incredible.

I'm annoyed by Rinari's change not because it doesn't work - I agree that it's exactly what happened to Allen; their personalities are growing more similar - but because it doesn't make her a unique heroine anymore. Of course she'll get a power-up. I'm much more happy with her now, since she's started to become stronger in recent chapters even while staying weak, and that's not easy to do.

The most recent chapter was just so awesome and unusual that it made things good, though. It's all thanks to Chaoji.

I have to agree with Sherman here about the darkness/action streak and the personality changes w/ Road and Light. They are both super-powered and used to getting their ways. I've seen/knew people like that and trust me, the addage "Beware the quiet ones" is quite true.
As far as Road not hurting people, I think that makes a certian sence considering that she is entirely infatuated with Allen. She started this behaviour shortly after Rewinding Town, and it's kept up. She knows that he likes Linalee and that he wants "humans" to live. So why not try to upset him the least while letting Tiki have his fun? It will only make the End Game funner, expecialy since she thought that Lavi was out of the game for good.
I can see why DE and others can be off-put by the manga right now, but there just isn't any place for filler at the moment. Give it (hopefully) 2-5 more chapters and then we can at least get out of the Ark. Oh, also don't forget that the lvl3 Akuma are still a major pain in the behind as well as the lvl4 and lvl5 ones (they were mentioned I belive when they arived in Japan), so don't count them out yet.

Yes, Road and Light are similar, and the argument is on whether or not both of them stayed in-character throughout (that was a subject for discussion in Death Note too; that's why everyone hated the ending!).

Road's infatuation... it's really hard to say what she thinks there. If anything, I'd think that she's pretending (in part) based on a hint of actual feelings - she was playing around and having fun with Rinari long before she even knew Allen or that he could possibly like her. I still don't see how she could have saved them all if she hadn't reacted without thinking, when Tiki "rejected" the air around Allen, but...

It's not even the filler, it's the plot. I like it better now. :3 As for the level 3s, we've only got one person capable of taking them down right now (and perhaps another soon); the Noah may be the main villains, but it isn't their power that allows them to control the akuma...

Hm...it seems you guys dislike the weak. I don't really mind the weak characters in this manga because...at least they know they're weak. They know to stay out of a fight because they're injured or that they are weak and that's the best thing to do. Unlike other mangas, such as Bleach where Orihime ran in against Yami, Rinari and Chaoji knew their limits and stayed out of the confrontations.

No, I like the weak characters! I still like Rinari... it's just that I don't know if making her weak was the best decision for the manga, because of the inevitable comparisons to other weak characters. As for Chaoji, he was also worthless and annoying, so there were other reasons for hating him. He's still weak now, but his attitude makes a huge difference.

Hes just another opposing view but I'm cool with the fact it once again challenges Allen's reasoning and Allen never has it easy (emotional crap).
