The anime is terrible - the only redeeming feature is its music, which is amazing. The animation, the plot (lots of fillers, etc.), the voices (great seiyuu, but bad roles)... it's bad.
The manga, on the other hand, is amazing and deserves way more fame than it has. The art style changes and is now absolutely gorgeous, the plot is interesting and pretty fast-paced, and it's nothing like the anime. No one would blame you for hating the anime - the manga is something else altogether, so don't judge the series without reading it. =P
*super-fangirl*
Of course, I've learned to tolerate a little of the anime... it's the fangirl in me. Besides, as mentioned, the music is the second-best of any series I've seen (compared to Inuyasha, which had Big Names from Avex and Johnny's - I haven't seen Bleach although I love its music too).
It doesn't.Quote:
How does the anime compare to the manga?
thanks for confirming my suspicions
It isn't that bad *total optimist*
There are some fillers (I just didn't watch them). the music is awesome (I wanna have the Soundtrack >.<) and the voices are...well...mostly fitting (In case 'Allen'...he sounds a bit immature). Give them both a try and i wouldn't give up on the anime yet (by the way, the 26th episode has the new opening and ending^^
The manga is worth reading...GO READ IT!!!!!!! Let's just say it's one of the best mangas they could have taken to publish!!!! No...let's say....let's say....*sigh* ...read it and you'll find out by yourself^^
I have yet to encounter any other character of Allen's age who still sounds like a girl. >__>
The music is great; I ordered the OST and... well, actually, I think it might have arrived today and I have to pick up the package. ^^;;
The manga is definitely one of the best ever written, and possibly one of the best Jump series, or even shounen manga altogether (it's the best, on my list).
Haha. Well.... You're reading PoT, right, Digi-san? PoT has some characters who still sound like girls. I think they're slightly younger than Allen, though. Lol.
As for the anime, the manga is much better. Although I can't say I hate the anime. The fillers get annoying, though. The plot is in a slightly different order, too. (At least up until the point I stopped. >.<)
...He'd be the same age as the third-years, but I'm betting that they all sound like men. ^^;; Even Syaoran from Tsubasa sounds like a man and I think he's fourteen. Allen isn't unnaturally short, either...
Okay, it's better than I made it out to be - but not by much! If you read the manga, nothing is comparable!
Lol. Yeah. Most of the third years sound like men. (Tezuka's voice is really deep for a fifteen year old.) Allen sounds like a kid, though. Some of the people in PoT just sound kinda girly. Actually, it's only one or two that I can think of off the top of my head.
I think it'd be slightly better without fillers. The fillers were so crappy, I haven't picked up watching it again. Not since the shopping one.
Well, if Ecchi (wait, Echizen. >_> the nickname is too funny!) sounds like a girl, who'd be surprised. I'm just upset because Allen shouldn't sound like a girl, but does. I also keep picturing Usui from Karin whenever I hear Komui... and hear him thinking about cute vampires...
The shopping one was so bad it was almost funny.
