    Default After the Ark

    D. Gray-Man is and has been a very good manga so far. Which leads me to the point of this thread: What is going to happen after the Ark? The chances of Allen defeating the Earl right then and there and ending the manga are slim but it's still possible. I am in favor of this ending because it would end the manga without drawing it out and making it long and boring.

I was thinking about the possiblity of a new villian appearing or the Earl allying himself with somebody else after losing to Allen with a race to find the rest of the Innocence, kind of like Tsubasa. This would be good if it was well executed because it would introduce several new characters as well as giving oppritunities for character development. The downsides to this are that it could get boring quick.

So what do you think will happen?

Nuooo. T_T There's still so much that needs to be revealed... and I personally think this manga would benefit from a long story. It has an interesting setting with mysterious characters and another story arc after the Ark (no pun intended. =P) could have a great plot to draw on - like going to defeat God or something (topic of some other random thread here).

I think a bunch of Noah will be dead after the Ark, and there will be power-ups, but there's going to be some other story before they defeat the Earl - maybe ending in that defeat - and possibly some history-related plot afterwards. D.Gray-Man's only about 11 volumes/100 chapters right now - which isn't a lot for a Jump manga; some of those titles are 300, 400+ chapters... you know which ones xD - and, unlike those, it has lots of plot to follow. ^_^

'a bunch of Noah'....excluding Boric there are only Tiki, Rhode and the twins...

I wish the story plots are going on a lot moooore....(but please...the story shouldn't get boring^^)
I hope so, that there'll come more characters or another kind of plot.

I actually don't know if it will be worth continuing in case they defeat Earl right now. The frist opion then is to end manga (which I don't want) or start another plot (which is hard). Logically thinking, after Earl a greated opponent must appear; if so, only God can be this oponent. This is possible only if it appeares that Earl was actually the God's messenger, while exorcists were fighting against God's will. I would like such a plot development very much, but it most likely won't happen.

The other one is that they are not defeating Earl right now. Which i believe in, since most of secrets are not revealed yet, a lot of characters need to be developed and showed from different sides of their character. This manga (i hope) just can't end leaving mysteries unsolved, it just won't be fair.

We don't know of any more Noah besides Road, Tiki, and Jasdevi - but that doesn't mean they don't exist. We only found out about Jasdevi a few volumes ago, and Boric... I don't remember when, but it wasn't that long ago. There could be more. Or Road and Tiki can get killed and there will be no more Noah left.

If they don't fight God, they could always fight the Devil - or maybe the Earl will reveal another form after defeat, run off, and they have to find him again (if executed well, it could work - like Aizen in Bleach). I don't think the story should end yet; as I said, there's much to be explained and there's lots of room for character development.

I'm not sure if they'll defeat the Earl right away. He seems pretty skillful at running away, although I think the story seems to be heading for the final showdown rather quickly. I was surprised that they caught up to the Earl that quickly. But I'm kinda hoping they won't drag it out too long either.

Maybe. Since the other ark that Allen took took him to Japan. That would be sort of strange though, because then Allen and co would be separated from Miranda, Bookman, Cross, and whoever that other general was.

Well, yeah. It would just be much more interesting if enemy is god not devil.

We still don't know were this new arc will be placed, so it can be everywhere. But separating them is good for further plot development i think - instead of crowd of powerful exorsists we'll have them separated in small groups, so everyone will get his chance to show his true abailities and get a power up.

Separating them is good for plot development, but only the main-character group would get it: Bookman, Miranda, General, etc. aren't important enough to have a huge subplot to themselves (they'd have the occasional appearance, like Kanda) - unless Kanda gets out and meets up with them.

Still, having a smaller group would be good. ^_^
