    Default General Questions & Answers

You know, like they have/had (haven't been in a while) in Bleach.

If you have a quick question about D.Gray-Man that you don't want to create an entire thread to discuss about, just ask it here and others will try to answer it. ^_^

Sure, we can have debate, but let's try to keep it related to the last few questions asked. =P

Okay, Digi's question: Is Rabi actually related to the old Bookman, or are they just colleagues/master and trainee? Bookman says that they're both Bookman (Bookmen?) but is that the title or is that more of a family name?

I think Rabi refers to himself as the "Bookman's successor." It sounds like a title to me, but I don't have any other proof. So it sounds like master and trainee.

I also think he is just the trainee of the old bookman, but if he is related with him we dont know. or i forgot sth...

I have also a essential question for u! Here it is:
Why is this manga called ''d.gray-man''? whats the meaning of the 'd.'? and who is the gray man? allen? or general cross?

Chapter 17 - "I just made this [title] up myself out of thin air, which means that there are lots of meanings to it. It has something to do with Allen, and also with the other characters too..."

This could just be a weird translation, because Japanese has no pronouns, but Bookman says in chapter 27: "We are mutual colleagues called Bookman. Because of our abilities, we both became exorcists. That brat over there is named Rabi, and I have no name. Just call me Bookman."

I thought that meant they were related somehow, if they have the same name...

It said he was English in his bio page - obviously, Mana was English, and I would guess that he was found there too, so that's probably the most logical explanation.

Speaking of nationalities, what nationality is Rabi, or what could he be?

At the end of chapter 33 they have this little flowchart of most of the relationships between characters. It says Rabi and the Bookman are master and student.

    Man... I'm looking for Rabi's bio page, but he seems to be left out. ;_;

according to the character profiles in the manga, rabi has no nationality .
as for the title, the mangaka had said that it might be refering to allen but he's not really precise about it . (:

Lol. Poor Rabi. No nationality. But the mangaka gave Allen a nationality. The character profile said he was English.

Most people with bio pages have a nationality - Allen is English, Komui and Rinali are Chinese, River is Australian, Jerry is Indian, Kanda is Japanese... it's just that Rabi didn't have a bio page. Actually, neither does Cross - which makes me even more suspicious. =P (Maybe Rabi's French? That was random but it somehow seems to fit.)

(Yeah, but that flowchart... they are master and student, but they could be related *shrug* and it only uses one description - it says nothing about Rinali considering Allen a friend, for example. >_>)
