Well, if they're on the side of God, it means they're the "good guys" - they're still the antagonists even if the exorcists aren't really fighting for good. (Noah's Fun Club? XDDD)

But don't the exorcists believe their fighting on the side of God, too? Or did I make that up? :3 I guess they're just the antagonists of the story, so they're usually deemed the "bad guys." And the whole "We're going to destroy all humans" thing doesn't help either.
No, they DO believe they're fighting on the side of God; they believe that God granted them the power to use Innocence. It's just that it seems more likely that God is with the Noah, considering their power/history - they're the bad guys to us because, as you said, they're the antagonists - they could be the nicest people ever and they'd still be the bad guys. And who knows, maybe God wants the Noah to kill humans.

Exorsists do think so but our main point is that they can not prove it coz they never met god personally. Noahs family did meet him (longlonglong ago).
If they will succeed in destroying humanity they will surely save the Earth. From being poluted completely in near future.
Good point... the Noah are weeding out the corrupted, maybe, while the exorcists are working against God's will... oooh, I can't wait to see what the truth is! ^_^

God who wants to eleminate hes' own creation....
BTW: the Noah was the only human who survived after the Flood, right? It means that all humanity is his family...
Yeah, that would be an interesting plot twist. But the idea of Akuma just seems a little evil... Using human sadness to create killing machines doesn't seem like a holy thing to do.
Ha! I forgot about that. Maybe the author of DGM didn't know that when he wrote the story.
I thought (and I don't have my manga with me at school) that the Flood was really a battle between two groups of people - not God's desctruction of humans. The Noah are direct descendants of Noah, but I think other people might not be related (unless maybe the compatible people are also Noah's descendants?).
Ah, but who knows WHAT God is thinking...

The Flood in the Bible was Noah building this big arc and taking two of every animal on it. Then God flooded the earth for 40 days and 40 nights or something like that because people were corrupted. When the waters receded Noah and his family were the only ones alive. Yay! I'm not sure what's the story of Noah in the manga. They might have changed it or something.
*~EDIT*~
Supposedly, Noah and his family were the only ones to survive the flood. Everyone else in the world was supposedly corrupt and died.
The Flood was Gods punishment for human for their ins. Just like destraction of Soddom and Homorrah but a bit bigger. Every human being died exept for Noah and his family. From him all the neew humanity was born.
From nature's point of veiw Humanity is an enymy since it uses planets resourses not giving anything for substitution. Maybe for god too?
Matbe mangaka just forgot about original....
