Regardless of what happens to the sig thread, the question should be are we going to allow sigs to be c&c'ed in their own threads instead of mashing them up in the current sig thread.

Meh, I don't mind you being abrasive about it, and there is a possibility that I haven't fully grasped everything entirely.

He didn't want opinions, he wanted to point out how pointless he thought the thread was. And its not the wording of his first couple of posts, its the blatant ignorance on his part, by jumping the gun with his sig master, and posting idiotic irrelevant images.

The main reason why I said that was because of his first post.

Ever since the first time I posted in these forums I thought it was a little weird. No other site does this, and it really is quite pointless. Whats next, a "your artwork" topic? Then this whole section would be off topic. I mean come on guys, thats what sections are for....

Anyway, if you agree, post in this topic. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but this is just my thoughts.....

Again, with "Post your artwork". Was there ever a decrease of personal art threads when people posted their art? I think not.
I don't think its a bad idea either, but what would be the point? I unstick a thread so the same people can bump it. Its the same situation with whatever I do with it. And by now pointing that out I'm showing the redundancy of this whole thing.

People are allowed to create personal art threads to show off just their work. I made this point earlier.

I wouldn't really know if there was a decrease in threads made at the time when that specific thread was still sticked since I joined ST right before it got unstickied, and was advised to make my own thread instead after posting there for the first time. As for the second part, I admit I was mistaken about it.

Now this is the main reason I commented. It is a vote. You vote for one choice. Not two.

Just edit your vote please.

After understanding a little bit more I vote Keep Sticky.
My apologies if I was wrong, and I'm certainly not trying to hassle you about it, was just my opinion.

I don't recall seeing such a thread. could you post the link, maybe? I don't come to CW that much, ever since ST became kinda slow moving, so I tend to miss threads that I don't frequently visit.



I have a suggestion, altho it's basically just reworded what everyone else has been saying:
we keep the sig thread, keep it sticky or unsticky, depending on what the final vote is.
In the mean while, anyone who wants to create their own art thread can create one (like they were always allowed to).
If people wish to post their sigs in their threads, then do so, and wait for others to c&c.
The good thing about having your own thread is that you can ask for the critiquers to be more easy going, if you want them to be. And for people like sperm, he can put up a warmning saying he will cuss out all who dare c&c in the least negative way.
This way we all get something out of it.

The "your sig" thread remains to be used for anyone who wishes to.
Those who want their own thread, create one (and ONLY one, mind you) where you can post their sigs AND other works. No one else would be posting their own works in there, so it would stay relatively clean, and organized.
Now if everyone could just come up with creative thread names that will help people know who's thread they're clicking on, I think we're good to go.

I'd avoid the "MY ART AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" or "check this out" titles, if I were you.

also i guess it'd state this, but it's not like you can't make a thread that host a bunch of ur artwork. You DONT HAVE to put in the sig thread. It's just a nice way to share it and what not.

and sperm, a critique isn't to tell someone that it sucks. WTF is that bullshit? You say ur a art student, yet u dont know what a critique is? Annoys the crap out of me to be dead honest. Critiques are to point out where you think things should be improved, your opinions on things, etc. Not to say "it sucks."

I vote De-Sticky. Much better crits can be given if each peice of work gets its own thread. I like to think that we're mature enough not to spam the shit out of everything. Im sad no one else seems to think so.

steal, what I said was anyone who wanted to create their own thread should create it. Where he/she could show off (all of) their work.
Of course each individual should get one and ONLY one thread, where they can post their sigs, drawings, photography, poem, and whatever else they might want.

I think that could turn out quite nice.
But I would still leave the sig thread stickied, for those who only have or or two sigs that they want to show, and wouldn't want to make a whole new thread for them.

Why not, it works so well and then you actually get crits on what you made instead of people multitasking across three or four different things or even having their sigs completely ignored.
