The pandemic of fashion ~ Or: why do all our sigs look the same?
Just a comment on the sigularity of style signatures have taken, are we all now slaves to fashion? Interesting how there is a good idea and suddely it's over done and over used, not denying that it's a beautiful style, but they seem to lack uniqueness. "Hey! I can out Jew a Jew" ... well great.. but who are you then? I think we should attempt to broaden our horizens too, maybe I'm just out of the loop and missing it. But I believe we have become too focused on certain styles of beauty.
I think what makes sig makers great is that they have a twist and utilise different styles. They imprint something with their own style that surpasses the current fashion.
No, I am not whinning, I am a horrible sig maker but at the same time, I think it's sad that the only comments I get are when my sigs look exactly like something others are doing.
I guess this is simply a plea for those here to not get comfortable with a style, to broaden their horizons. PLEASE. I'm sorry but all the sigs are starting to look the same, same formula... like a mass of drones =/
Thank you kindly for your consideration, a slightly fustrated Silver

oooh how could I miss this thread.
YES, I AGREE!! stop with the sig cloning already. we need more people like hiso, who come and shows us their unique sigs, that look nothing like the other sigs that are floating aruond these forums.
It seems like sperm sees some sig style he likes at his other forums. Makes a sig resembling said sig style. Zen then shows up with a sig quite similar. Now that's the new trend, and everyone jumps in saying "OMG I have to have one JUST like theirs."
And now look, we look like someone walled ST with mirrors. Everywhere we look, we see the same types of sigs.
So, as silver said, go and make up your OWN styles, people. Stop copying others' and think now you're one of the cool kids.
I love you forever now... I waited and waited for a reply.. thankyou!!!! *cries tears of happiness*

I dont think I copy sigs... =\
But sigs like fashion follows trends... its hard to go against the flow but I see people here that do it quite successfully. A model to the rest of us I guess. This was made when i wasnt here so... not much I can say.
I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I dunno, I'm pretty sure I've commented on your sigs whenever I saw them. Anyway, I think I remember your first sig (or the first one I saw) and seeing this now you've improved a lot.
And yeah, sigs in the sig thread do look a lot a like, which is probably why I stopped commenting because I was basically saying the same things again.
Yeah, I made this about 3 weeks ( I think) after I couldn't tell the difference between Zen and Sperm's sigs.. and I know fashion is good but I think we should make the effort to adjust the fashion to our styles, not viseversa.. you've doone a good job of that Steal actually... I like your stuff (for the most part *teasing*)
so yeah.. thanks guys for reading this.
@silvermoon : diversity is great, but i'm taking advantage of this topic to ask if this is TOO diverse or not to your tastes ? : http://www.stoptazmo.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=584
I've got no answers/critics/love letters/advices whatsoever ^^" (it seems the thread is not really active anymore...)
ps : i may never use it though, as i don't want people to accuse me of ruining their vision
I think I just temporarily blinded...
But imo, if a person is good at one art style, then why not continue doing it and trying to improve it even if it is still similar to the old ones? Could be that they're just trying to hone into perfecting what ever it is they are looking for, and since art can be appealing to certain people and not to others people could fall in love with it or toss it away. Basically I don't find it a problem, just more of a preference type of thing, meh.
@shautieh- I think that's a little extreme, I'm sure they want to avoid a seizure. :P
