Thread: Manga Idea

I was busy with a history lesson when i had a (what i think is a cool) idea for a manga.
Check this out its thousands of years in the past in the age of atlantis. The atlanteans in my story are a group of super advanced humans who are able to create a way to reprogram reality. Kinda like the matrix but in the real world. Using this power they are able to create gods. Each god's structure and abilities (progamming) are contained in a tennis ball size ball called a construct. These can be wielded by humans granting them godlike power. Something (not sure what yet) causes the fall of atlantis and the atlanteans migrate to different corners of the world.
The gods are split into five pantheons (aztec, norse, greek, egyptian and japanese).
What you guys think? Crits welcome.

Okay, so what you have here is background information for your work - not the stary itself.
It's a nice idea, but you really need to flesh out beyond the concept: who would be your main characters, what guides their actions; what is the point of the story that you'd like to tell?

I'm new here, but consider these things and post back and I'll happily guide you. I write for a living, so can offer you some pretty good advice if you're genuinely interested.
We need better stuff coming out of the west than Marvel and DC...

That would be kinda corny, I like the concept but you should delve further on the characters and how they mend into the story you want to create in this world. Good luck and keep us posted.

um, sounds good so far. My only problem is that it should be chinese, not japanese. Chinese = creator of asian races.

If your talking "construct" try doing it kinda of like an ancient form of Mech, I usually hate mech shows, but this would be a little different

i like how it sounds so far.....just change the thing used to contain the gods abilities.

If it were me, I'd make the cause for the downfall be that they made one of the constructs too powerful for any one being to control and it corrupted them. The gods you're talking about all had their little quirks. The Greeks for instance all seemed arrogant and saw humans as toys to pass the time for their immortal lives. That's how I think a human would be with that kind of power an longevity.
