my own pet project....
Hi guys, normally I make more cute kind of stuff =(preview.aycestudios.com/flash <---my work) ... But I've been working on a story in which I myself can not deliver the illustrations... My drawings just ain't serious enough and my writing is also not good enough.... So I basicly put it out in storyboard style...
After only positive comments up to now I still want to publish it online on a site like this one... But does this site do those kinds of things (I'm not asking money ofcourse) hoping that way people will judge it on the story and find the inspiration to keep going if people like it and perhaps even find an artist who is interested in bringing the story to life....
The story is very mangalike.... That the reason why I posted this question here.....I just finished part 3 in storyboard style and only need to add text to it.... so it's 3x48 pages up to now and roughly wrote the story up to 6 for now....
well, first off you really want to fix the link and make it more accessible. Secondly, this is a section where you can get help if you need it. So post the story if you want help, I doubt you'll get the help in drawing it for you, but at least you'll get a push in the right direction and help on the story.
So just post whatever you can and I will try to help as much as I can.
Well first of all, I can't place any live links untill I posted atleast 10x  So I thought this would be a good second....
Second, I was wondering if a site like this "would be" interested in non commercial work..... I just want to post the story because I have a story to tell and would only need help if I ever find someone who can carry the story. Technically I might not be the best writer, but I do think to how to tell a story.... I just wanted to know if a site like this one would be interested...
I know about the live links, that wasn't the point. You can give use a link and if someone wanted too - could easier copy/paste it into their browser. But I digress, I doubt anyone would be interested in doing this. This is afterall primarily a manga site, the art section is very very new and not the main focus of the forums.
However, I am interested in seeing what you've done so far.
Well I I guess I will place issue one tomorow morning on this thread if you like... Need to make some minor tweaks..... Would be better oplace them with real links, but so be it.... Atleast I'm now one post closer to post a live one.... Don't want to spam this board for just that reason...;)
With this post you guys can check part 1......
But I repeat, it's about the story and not the art nor the typos/grammar stuff ;)
downloading it now, I'll read it tomorrow and give my comments on it at that time.
well just to post some Kudo's and seem like a butt kisser, id like to say you do have some tallent! More then i do, cause id like to think im a writer and stuff and i just wanna pass along the good Kudo's to a fellow enthusiast
plz don't see me as a writer, you would propably undermine your own talents... I'm a storyteller (atleast that's how I see myself) but to be a real writer you also need to be technically strong and I will never be able to really put down a "professional story" without help of "real" writers.
Same goes for drawing this story.... I don't think for a second that my art is doing this story justice(I'm just too much of a cute drawing person).... But I do believe the story itself is enjoyable enough to be read and I just want to tell it I guess..... I just hope that some day I will find people who want to work on something like this....
But this does have one big pluspoint of working like this... I can basicly put down a 48 page story within a week... So it's easier to keep focussed on the story itself...
It's a nice story, quite light hearted and fun, not to serious. reminds of the kinda cartoons I used to watch as a kid. the art isn't as bad as you say it is, fits the story quite well, I reckon if you keep at it and refine it you'll have yourself a nice style going.
are you interested or studying a course about illustration and story telling for childrens books by any chance? seems like that would be a career option later on in life.
