Theanimaster > Haha! You flatter me too much. xD But thank you!
Adobe Illustrater, huh? Hm... :< This's the first time someone's recommended it to me. I don't know much about the program itself but since you say so, I'll definately try to get a hold of it. Have you got any suggestions as to where I can go to get a good general tour of the program? (As much as I like diving into a program and playing with it, it's nice to learn a few trade tricks along the way. XD)
Again, thank you very much! ^^ I'm definitely looking for a new perspective in my stuff and a new program will help out a lot. :D My art changes dramatically between new techniques. Even the slightest difference in how the pen moves in different programs brings something different out. xD; Or at least that's how it feels.
Anyway, Here's another picture that I drew actually before all of the other ones up in my first post. I'm attempting to sell it as a poster at conventions. XD; I'll update my first post in the near future so this will be added to it.
Media used: Intuos2 tablet, Deleter comicworks (lineart), Painter 7 (colors), Photoshop7 (waves in the background). ... or at least I think that's how it worked out. xD
It's Onishi again. This time with his horns and markings/tattoos. Deleter is a wonderful program for line art since it IS made for manga making. The pen tool moves very smoothly and it's great at 600 dpi.
Ok, I'm getting annoyed with Deviantart's spazzy problems, so I'm going to get this out of my system and just post everything I have for my next submission which I'll probably just copy over to Deviant when it decides to work. XD; ::
filexoom.com/files/5278/geeks50.jpg <-- Half sized
http://filexoom.com/files/5278/geeks.jpg <-- Full sized. (apx. 1800x1200px but it's got the details. D: )
Yees, the size is enormous, but I provided the full size version anyway. Just incase you wanna see all the little wires in Booleans body or something. XD
Media: Intuos3, Open Canvas cause I'm lazy.
Okay, so I started getting lazy toward the end, which makes me sad. But I cant help it much cause the only time I can draw anymore seems to be 9pm to 4am... which really wears me out, due to my work schedule. xD; Anyway... Despite all this, I had fun drawing this pic. Mostly cause it's been a while since I've made a new character and also it's been a while since I focused on two of my super old characters.
XD This is all a part of a sort of story I had going on when I was... gosh, it must have started in middle school. Needless to say, a lot has changed since then. They're all a part of some sort of intergalactic army based in our very own solar system.. some... thousand years in the future aproximately. All of these guys (and more) are stationed on a ship where they all grew up without their families or having stepped foot on any planets since they were toddlers. They've all been educated and trained to be top, commanding ranks in their own respective areas.
From left to right, as you can already read:
New character. :D But he finally finishes off the "geek squad" sort of air that's been hanging around the other two for years. After being literally ripped in half, Boolean was brought back to life all thanks to his comrades' enormous brains and their mild interest in the task. He's not quite the same as he used to be, but seeing as he's still getting over the whole half-cadavar-half-computer thing... I dont blame him. As a random fact, Strobe and Jade could have made him prettier and all, but they both decided on external metal grafting and wires that his slow healing wounds still bleed all over, simply because they thought it looked cooler. In any case, Boolean was and still is the fastest and most inventive programmer this side of the galaxy... Yes. Creative. I know. [/sarcasm] But I thought it'd make a cute name. xD
(I've still got a lot of intensive character work to do on him, but he's like.. 3 days old. xD)
Electronics wiz-kid, notorious antisocial misfit and occasional unintentional heart throb. He's also famous for whipping up super nano computers out of nowhere. Hence his four orbiting, thought controlled, holographic, super nano computers, affectionately named Ganymede, Callisto, Io and Europa. They're almost as good at multitasking as Strobe is, himself. Strobe grudgingly accepts Jade and Boolean as fellow higher intelligence, though he despises Jade's constant teasings/threats. He gets along better with Boolean and they make an intense IT team.
Fun fact: Strobe's real name is Adrien Shinri Truce and is a part japanese, part caucasian, mutt that was spawned from some Americanized colony off of one of Jupiter's moons. While most of the inhabitants in the army spaceship colony know little to nothing of their pasts, Strobe's been able to track down anything he wants to know. His extensive connections are impressive considering his stationary position.
Though he may be a bit out of place in relation to the others,(he's 9 and 8 years older than them respectively), he's got a strange affinity for Strobe's "amusing" personality and enjoys tormenting him. Jade and Strobe started working together when Strobe got the idea to start salvaging the bodies and even brains of the recently deseaced. Jade's medical genius and his fathomless understanding of the human body and every single fiber it holds proved to be indespensible in this endeavor as it was combined with Strobe's hardwiring techniques. Jade, of course, only agreed because he thought the idea was amusing. Another random fun fact: Jade's original issued "uniform" used to be red, but the higher ups decided that excess use of the color red excited him too much. Jade still refuses to remove parts of his old uniform.
Hm... Maybe I'll do something with the story sometime. *blinks*
(Additional Note: ^o^ Thank you again tetnubis for fixing my links for me still!)
The legs from the knees down and hands on the second picture are really bugging me. Not really sure why (sorry.. I know i'm not helping much). But i love the way you drew the hair and the way you colored the picture is fantastic.
I don't think that you need to use photoshop since you're already very good but i think that you'd have fun toying around with it. :)
XD; I wouldn't be surprsied if they bug anyone... for two reasons.
1.) I dont use stock photos or doll forms or anything... the poses I draw come directly from my head. Sometimes It's just hit or miss. xD; I know.. I should probably start doing that, but it's a lot of trouble to find helpful stock photos that match the pictures in my mind. :<
and 2.) I went through a lot of circumstantial trouble with the picture so I ended up staring at it for a loooooooong time. xD; This is why I like it when other people look at my stuff and notice things for me cause I cant even tell if some things are even possible after a while. (once I drew a picture of a boy holding a bow with an arrow... and he was posed like he was about to shoot it but the string wasn't drawn... xD; I dunno how that happened. My friends laughed at me. A lot.)
Rofl, I vaguely remember stuff bugging me about the picture too, but I've since forgotten. xD; ... I wonder if that's strange.
Right now I'm only at my third post (ok.. now 4th). Until I reach 10 posts, I can't post this tutorial I've been meaning to. When I do however, check it out... I'm basically outlining Illustrator's advantages through a current anime CG I'm making.
You can go to Adobe's website and try to download a demo of Illustrator.
aww thoughs drawings are sick i like the first one alot just because its done by hand but the outher ones are nasty to im likeing the style of anime to great job
:D Now that I can post links I've updated my first post with the other pictures I've posted so that in the future, you guys wont have to search through comments to see them.
Animaster- Now that I've looked at your examples, I was firstly skeptical, since it's a huge difference from my normal style.. XD;; all that "troublesome" stuff you were talking about is actually stuff I enjoy doing, but then I started thinking.. And I may like to play with it afterall. :3 It can certainly be a powerful tool, in any case.. and the coloring style could definitely prove to be an interesting addition, too. ^^ Thanks!
insomaniac - :D! I'm glad you enjoy the hand drawn one. Despite the hand being buggy, I still like the rest of it. (XD Even if I'm not used to real media.) Thank you very much! ^^
Media: Intuos3 and Photoshop 7.0
So this is another character picture. xD; But the last picture sort of started me up into a series I think. I may draw a few more of these of other characters from this storyline of mine.
This is Tigerlily who is training to become a Team leader. One who is responsible for bringing specialists from each area together into a well rounded team. This is something that Tigerlily has absolutely no mind for as she's hardly responsible enough to make it to class on time every day. xD Still. SOMEone out there must see potential in her somewhere.
I rarely draw girls.. but it's a lot of fun. XD It's so incredibly different anatomically from all the guy's I draw. That's why I like it so much I think. XD
Also I think I draw better when I challenge myself... :< I think this came out better than the last few pictures I've done.
LOL, when i saw the first picture I was like "ohh, well", then when I saw "kuroara" I started hating you!!!!!
I love how you colorated it!!!!!!
The blue haired guy ones are good too, but there is no comparation.
That is pretty crazy stuff, is it hard creating lineart with a tablet?
