    Smile Midnight's Art

    Hello everyone, this is xMidnightEnvyx ^^ I'm here to share one of my favourite artworks I have done. Hope you enjoy it. Honesty and constructive crtisisms are very much welcome.

    Edit: I personally enjoy sketching on lined paper instead of on white. I don't really like to colour my pictures since they always, somehow, turn out bad... I need lot's more practice on both sketching and colouring.

    Oh, and there might be something odd about her pose... I ususally just focus on drawing the facial features and completely neglected improving my body poses... Hope it's not too strange or weird ^^;;

    This is good, you need to work more on connecting the neck and shoulders. They're really out of place, the angle is wrong. Go assume the same pose in a mirror and you'll see whats wrong, you'll also see what you look like and how you can make it look more natural, the left arm (or right...the one in the air) needs to be bigger as well.

    you did a good job with the face, but the ears need to be a little lower (you could've gotten away with not drawing them, but since you did they have to be lower).

    You did excellent with the creases in the dress and the hands, if you wanna practice colouring and shading, you simply need to do it and keep doing it till you have it down, print out some copies of pictures and use those as test dummies, define your light source and work from there. Colouring is pretty much the same.

    i think elcura is right..try posing in the mirror before or as you draw ...i know this helps me a lot when i'm drawing ^_^ ... overall it's really good! i love her expression and her figure and i bet it would look even better in colors !

    You did a very good job on her body and face (she looks really cute!) but there are a few minor tweaks you could do to the picture to make it look even better.

    Her head is a bit too big, her neck is too thick, the buttons should be moved a bit to the left, and the wrinkles lines shouldn't touch the very bottom of the dress.

    ^_^

    her face seems a bit streched.
    and yah, what elcura said, her pose is out of proportion ... :/ its not possible to stand like she is.

    Thank you so much for your helpful comments!

    I guess the pose was really awkward... I need way more practice... T_T
    Now that I look at the picture again, I realized that the head really was too big = ;

    Oh, and concerning the issue about the bottoms, I had purposely drawn them more to the right (ours or her left) as a style. Guess it didn't work out too well...

    I will definitly keep those tips in mind next time I draw ^^

    On the brighter note, what do you guys think about my anime *style*?

    actually to me her pose seems spot on... it could be possible IRL if she has nice hips (which might be impossible for someone who looks like her XD) i think you need to work on the hair a bit more tho, seems more (unfortunately) like DBZ spiked than the sorta Chobits esque look that the rest of her body and face have

    I think there's a problem right there after the waist down, I think you shouldn't curve too much the thing out there because it kinda off the body a little bit...as for the face and other parts, it's well drawed, congratulation!
