This is so confusing to me. Fuck... Oh well.

I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I agree that Miata wasn't high and mighty but I believe that she always had this "semi-unbeatable" aura ever since she started mutilating yomas with her bare hands.
Well, I can give you that - but I'd say it's because the characters, and thus their adversaries, had been becoming progressively stronger for a while. Until the Clarice/Miata team, standard youma had been practically missing from the baddies roster - it used to be awakened beings or worse.
So sure, compared to the average Claymore, Miata is in-bleeping-credible. Compared to most recurring characters we've seen in the manga, however, she's more or less around decent - somewhere at (imo slightly below) Galatea's level would be my estimate, as neither was able to really go all-out.
Good to see Clarice to "man" up, though only a little. I was expecting a "Miata awakens and Clarice controls her, potentially become the next Alicia" scenario, but it's better off with Clare's team showing and probably obliterate the awakened one. I'm curious how Galatea and Clarice will react to them.
Thank god Clare and the others showed up. All this Miata/Clarice stuff was starting to get a little boring... I'd really like to see Clare's reaction to seeing Galatea again after seven years, and also perhaps her opinion of the new number 47 (and Clarice's reaction to those seven, too).
But did Clarice really improve so much in this chapter? The fact that she at least tried to attack Agatha was kinda nice, although nothing unusual (if she hadn't, she'd have become too worthless to require a role in the manga except as youma bait), but to just sit down with Miata and cry after that... umm, it felt a little weird, and even though I see why that happened, it didn't really make Clarice seem any less pathetic than she did before.
I hope Galatea doesn't die. o_o She's still awesome.

Clarice is still pathetic (especially the end), the fact that she attacked doesn't change anything lol
Oh I never especially liked them (and still don't), but Miata was set up to be the successor of the top of the organization, and I enjoyed seeing her finally get beaten pretty well. As for Clarice, I wasn't saying she was doing anything noble like being bold, but I found it interesting that she wasn't just a worm on the ground (she's a cannibalistic worm).
Ditto.
Not all of the Magnificent 7 are indeed top notch warriors though. Still, after saying this, I would like to say that even the weakest of the Seven would probably be a match for Mita. One of my questions about the whole thing is what exactly happens when they release their Yoma powers, after holding them in for several years? There hasn't been any mention of them actually using their powers, or of anyone sencing them. I wonder what Galatea's reaction is when she reconizes Clair's essence, but with the new power. Or if she knew Teressa, if it would look to simular to hers? That would be a fun scene "Teressa!?! How, you died years ago!" heheh.
