@Hynavian
Just finished looking over your scanlation. I can tell you really put a lot of effort into it. However, the English, both in terms of grammar and vocabulary, is a little shaky. My guess is that you are native Japanese and that you are using a Japanese to English dictionary or something to that effect. The problem is that those dictionaries, and especially online translation services, are not very effective, and the nuances of the English language are complicated and multifaceted. I understood the gist of the action by taking your words and inferring the actual text, and your scanlation is much more preferable to the constant minimizing and switching involved if I used a translation and RAW. If you would like, I could send you a more readable English translation, but still, your scanlation was a great help for reading. Also, props for the speed of release. :)

oh wow, friggin sweet chapter. i think she blinded herself as a disguise as well... and an Abyssal One is probably heading their way? (omg Priscilla!11)
can't wait till the next chapter =\ is it going to be a monthly wait?
Hello thanks for the encouragement :)
I was flipping the dictionary like mad and am trying to figure out the correct english words :D I did learn many new words yesterday though. And thanks Kaiser for the explanation of the priest terms. I still don't really understand some of the terms but now I know that there are many terms for the priests of different ranks/countries?
I'm not too certain about religious terminology (I'm atheistic), but I think that in this context, just using Father would suffice (such as when Galatea is talking to the priest or when Sid talks about Father Vincent). Also, I think the Anglicized names of the two guys are Galk (the guy with the facial scar) and Sid (the first guy on the roof). At least these are the names that are in the previous chapters I have on my computer.
I don't think she took her own eyes. There are less scarring ways to blind one self and she is suppose to be vain.
@Shadowfighter
Wow thanks it's Zatoichi gonna watch that movie again.
@Hyn
No problem just glad to help. Well they are term for different rankings.
You could say she was a bit vain (the entire "I don't to go golden-eye because it mars my face" episode in Riful's lair), but I think it's was more sarcasm than vanity. If anything, I'd say she is a bit on the arrogant side at times, but damn, she was a top 5, what do you expect ;) . Considering how the council said that she had evaded their previous search teams, I think it's more likely that she blinded herself rather than someone cut her eyes like that (and she probably could regenerate them anyway). I don't know why she'd do it - but it's been seven years and she probably didn't have an easy time adjusting. As iirc even the priest doesn't seem to know she's blind, it must have happened some years ago - before she hid in Labona.
So Clarice wants Miata to go all out... maybe she thinks all that youki can distort Galatea's "vision" (damn it, girl, did you have to brag) like that?). However, this can also lead to something else I've been expecting - Miata awakening. Not at the most convenient place, I might add :) Judging by our two town guard friends' reaction, she's quite close to it already.
@ Snakestream: I think you're right - "Father" would be the proper way to address a priest, especially if the occasion is not really formal. IIRC Reverent is a proper way to address a Protestant pastor, but won't do here: I think it was was because of some of their beliefs that preachers should not be separated from the lay worshippers (as "Father" would imply) that Protestant churches chose it.
BTW, does anyone else think high-ranking Claymores only get more badass after a normally-crippling injury?
It makes sense to blind herself while in hiding (what better place to hide than Rabona?) It's not like either crippling injury (Ilena, Raphaela and now Galatea) are permanent as well. More so for Galatea because she's defensive, although even Ilena could've regrown her arm if she wanted too, Raphaela could've regrown her eye so naturally Galatea can regrow her eyes. Up till now injuries have been symbolic, either a reminder or a harsh wake up call to reality. Being blind would help get rid of all the distractions around you, help you focus on what you need to focus on (which is why sensors always seemed to close their eyes). This is a permanent state would up your ability if it's all you have.
Besides that, how is there an aesthetically pleasing way to blind yourself? It's not like she was born with a disorder that covieniently makes her blind when she's on the run.
I would say the whole town knew she was blind (the fact we, as readers aren't shown her eyes means nothing in that the characters weren't shown or at least couldn't see). The priest was more shocked that she was an ex-claymore more than she was blind.
Clarice getting her sword stuck in the building is not purely because she sucks. Galatea manipulated her into missing. Considering how weak Clarice is, I hardly think it would be hard.
