Actually, there is something slightly interesting in the last scene: Clare, even as a total newbie (newbette? newberinna? is there a female form of "newb?"), had above-average youma sensing powers. That, and apparently quite few trainees survive. I got the feeling that 2 out of 10 is an average score for that "exercise."

i think she got the "above-average youma sensing powers" from Teresa.

It could be. There isn't much information on what causes claymores to develop certain powers, and I'm pretty certain it depends at least partially on how their bodies adapt to the youma implanted. In the case of Claire, since she has Theresa implanted in her, it's likely that she'd have some similar abilities. However, it could be that her talent comes from her own body, mind, etc. and she would be a natural even if she was a standard claymore.

Well ... it could be a Basic Military Training School ... ^.^"
( It reminds me of this place that I called 'Island School', since it is an island ... as well as a school for fellows forced into being military grunts. >_<" )

Anyway, 4uk4ata, I think you could be right. Claymores might have gain powers based on what is implanted into them, usually giving each one a unique specialty that is diverse among themselves when they reach a higher level of skill ... ( Helen's arms, Clare's senses, etc ... )

I got the best question in the entire world plus the universe plus a mountain!

Even though Claymores never get old, as proven by Rafaela, does this chapter prove that even after being ... "Yomasized" at an early age, the person can still go through puberty?

What does puberty entail? Technically puberty is when the body reaches the age of sexual reproduction. Since Claymores have their womb removed they can never reproduce. That answer your question?

Although I can't place where exactly I remember reading that Claymores have their wombs removed. But I'm not about to read the whole thing again just to clarify.
