Thread: Claymore Episode 23 *Spoilers*

OMG they ruined it. I cant understand Japanese but I am pretty sure there was no "SUPERB" =(

And Raki just appears for no appearant reason. The end of this anime is definately gona be different from the manga...

Originally I supported Clare and Raki's relationship but now......

I just find that kid more and more irritating. I think Raki is obsessed with his promise that he had made with Clare.

Raki got infatuated with the kiss when Clare did her prostitute act.

Ugh. As usual, I'll wait until an english version comes out but please, let's keep Raki out of the plot... And definitely out of the knight in shining armor/protector role. It fits him about as well as a ball dress.

Infatuated I can live with - and given the circumstances, I'd only expect it. Kisses - or more - I can tolerate; while Clare would not be my prime choice for a Claymore to have a romantic relationship, it might be an interesting subplot (for some reason I'm pretty sure Helen's had some forays in the boyfriend/lover department, it could be just me getting weird though). But I hope this whole promise thing dies down, or it will be the biggest mistake in the series imo. So far, my worst moment in the manga was when Raki was acting like "I'll protect you" to Clare (luckily he didn't get very far, but the hint was there). It is my #1 annoying cliche in anime male characters, and it is doubly annoying when it is so blatantly absurd. Even thinking of Clare in a damsel in distress situation makes me feel sick. I hope the promise thing stays at motivation level and does not actually go that far.

Claymore anime officially got gay.

The fansub for episode 23 is being torrented in baka-updates now. But from the opinions of everyone so far, it would've probably been better if the animators had stayed true to the storyline--even if it meant ending things with a cliffhanger then beginning a 13-episode second season a year after. (Something like Full Metal Panic.) >_<

EDIT: Okay, there was a moment where Rigardo goes superb and gets chopped to bits. Seems they're saving the moment of Clare's awakening her arms and stuff for the next episode. (Showdown with Priscilla?)

Fight wasn't bad...except they recycled stuff and had Rigardo do a DBZ move. X_X

And someone pickle Raki in a barrel and ship him back south. He definitely deserves the handle of 'brat'.

No "Queen of Blades" here. That sucked. Still, it was a badass episode, and Eclipse didn't totally fudge up Rigaldo's famous last words - here he goes "How superb!" instead of just "Superb". At least it's not as dumb as their "Dwellers of the Deep" translation (c'mon guys, even Viz translated it as "Abyssal Ones", get a fucking clue).
