Hmmm, I didn't realize that 28 Voracious Eaters (I don't think I got the number right) were all Isley had for an army. Looks like I skipped a dialogue or two in the reading process (thanks for pointing it out). Raki should be a young man about now, or a developed teenager. Does anyone here aside from me smell potential for a love (or even one-sided) relationship?

Well Elcura, I've noticed some diffrences growing up with my freinds in them, but that was along the ends of height more so then anything else. True that without others, or momentos of the past, we probably wouldn't notice gradual change brought to us. This is why the lack of change in someone that appears to be around the age of puberty could probably be noticed by someone else. Which is where Raki would put one and one together and come up with two. However, like you said, without thinking about it at the very least, you don't really notice it.

Don't forget that Yoma are capable of absorbing the victim's memories making it easier for them to pass off in real life as a loved one or friend.

I would just like to point out that it's more than likely that Priscilla had passed puberty before awakening.

Can't argue that, she probably did. I was just saying that to me she looks like she's about 12 now, and that Raki has now went through puberty too, he might question some things if it comes up.

Oh and alex90lee, I did forget that (been a while since I read book 1).

Doesn't look 12 to me >.> Claire in the backflash looked around 12. Priscilla might act like a 12 year old, but damn. If she looks 12 I dunno what to think.

Remember that aging is relative to yoma blood concentration, so the fact that Priscilla looks relatively young compared to Claire is to be expected because Priscilla is an awakened being while Claire is a quarterblood Yoma.

What about everyone else then? Every Claymore has a cut-off point where they stop physically aging. Whether you're half-blood or quarter-blood the result is the same. Priscilla looking younger than Claire is simply because she just looks younger than Claire. It happens. I know 40 year old people who look younger than 30 year olds, I know 20 year olds who look like they're 50.

^I wasn't saying the aging correlates to how you look, just that in this specific case the fact that the blood concentrations are different between Clare and every other claymore make her more susceptible to the effects of aging than the others. And while I agree that the yoma blood concentration does not discount the fact that there is a point when Claymores stop aging, I'm not sure we can ignore the difference altogether. If decreases in yoma concentration lead to decreased offense/defense abilities, I don't think it would be a big stretch to say that aging would be affected similarly.

And while what you say about appearances makes perfect sense for real life, its hard to say how true it is in Claymore. I have gotten the impression that awakened beings tend to look even younger than their non-awakened counterparts just by the examples of Priscilla, Riful, and even Luciela (as compared to Rafaela, ignoring Rafaela's battle scars).

That was the point I was trying to make about the aperance as well Urameshi-sama. Even if Clair looks to be in her late teens or so (I'ld put her between 17-19), we don't know how old any of the Claymores are. Also, the relitive age of Priscilla looked like it went down once we see her again as an Awakened Being. I guess my main point is that Raki went through his growth spurt, and it looked to me like Pris should of been about to go through hers around the same time.
As far as Elcura's statement about knowing people who look younger/older then what they actually are... well there are pleanty of examples out there to see (with or with out surgery). So I guess it would depend on what Raki saw, and therefore thought of as normal. In any case, my idea was speculation only. Interesting conversation though.
