Thread: The #s Parallel - Do you see it? -

Now its time to create more topics to stimulate the thinking of all Claymore fans! (Jobs of Phantom Miria and me)

Do the numbers(#s) in the organisations represent anything? How are the ranks of Claymores given? And on what basis are they promoted?

Take a look at this parallel:

#4 Ophelia <----------------------> #4 Miata
Are the #4 positions only given to Claymores who have potential but are nutty?

Then how about...
#47 Clare <------------------------> #47 Clarice
Are #47s reserved for "failed" Claymore creations or Claymores who are more unique than the others? If its true that Clare can pull off miracles now and then what about Clarice. You never know...Clarice might have some hidden powers.

As i see it, this ranks can only show difference between Claymores who are currently in organisation, since they are given by comparing powers of alive Claymores. 3 is obviously stronger then 4, but that doesn't mean that Ilena is stronger then Miata.

While this two are *cough* not very normal, number four of Teresa's time (forgot her name) had no problems with any of brain functions. So I don't think that number four is given to strong but crazy Claymores.

It is for sure for failures. Clare was considered as failure by organisation after all. And Clarice... judging from what we have seen for now, she IS a failure.

Wtf? Beth's only use is to control Alicia. Whether or not she has raw skill is something we don't know, but Irene would rape Beth...

Clare ===================== Clarice
Clare's been around for a while... strong enough to go on par against an Awakened one of she's running away (if you look at it in a good light). Clarice... they both got looked down on for sucking tons during their first Abyssal hunt, but Clarice is by FAR worse than Clare
The Parallel? Without help, both of them woulda been fucked over from the first day. Clare lived with Teresa's youki-reading power in the Slashers, Irene's Flash Sword against Ophelia and in Pieta, and with Flora's Quick Draw (right name?) in the new world. Clarice on the other hand.... her power is to whip her boobs out randomly because A) someone needed to in the series, and B) she's be dead if it weren't for Miata... probably.

True... there's no way that clearcut parallels can exist between more than 3 of them, if anything. Mine (and I assume the same of everyone else's parallels should they decide to post) are just loosely based and poke a little fun... but that's not to say they don't make sense.

I highly doubt Clarice will be showing us any surprises anytime soon. We gotta keep in mind that Clare and Clarice have completely different personalities. Clare was never presented as a useless claymore, she only seemed weak because she keeps fighting strong Yoma since she was hunting down Pris from the start. When you look at Clarice, she couldn't even beat a random Yoma, which makes me think the only value the organisation sees in her is to babysit miata.

I don't think the reason Clarice become a claymore has been explained in the manga, which makes me wonder what makes her so "weak" that her hair hasn't even completely changed colour. Clare is 1/4 yoma and still turned out fine.

The name "Clarice" leads me to think that she has something to do with Clare. Perhaps she was a claymore created from Clare's flesh, like how Clare was created from Teresa. I do think that Clarice is intended to be a parallel with Clare in this sense. I find the way she was introduced very similar to how Clare introduced herself to Miria when they went to kill Clare's first Awakened. But we'll have to see.

Clarice is a failure because the fusion failed, or it wasn't done properly. Even though Claire is a 1/4 Yoma, her fusion with Teresa was done correctly.

Yes, that was mentioned in convo between characters, which still leaves room for us to question the validity of that claim.
