    That's a good question :P
I never thought about Yomas being able to have children, but considering they are everywhere even though claymores have been slaying them for centuries, I guess they can have kids (though it may be an asexual thing, or Yomas are created again another way)

Her child? Which chapter was that? The closest thing I remember is that maybe Raki is her plaything.

Raki can't be her child (granted claymores can have children, which I highly doubt), she only took pity of him and before she could abandon him he got too attached to her.

Claymore series lack romance full stop. Even the possibility of Clare and Raki in my view is nothing but a relationship you would expect from a older sister and a younger brother at best. Should there be something else maybe Raki really is Clare's play thing despite her disliking this idea. Who knows we might see a Male claymore Raki turned awakened which Clare falls in love with.

Mmm I wonder how I should interpret Jean's relationship with Clare though.

you got me wrong. I know raki isnt her child. i meant that claymores in general could get children. since someone asked Clare if Raki is her child

well jean had a life-dept. Her honor caused her attachment

    That was just a misconception.

@feroz : whoops ! but then who asked ? a fellow claymore ? (then it could either be possible or she was titillating Clare), or a human ? (then he just didn't have a clue).

@phantom : it lacks romance, but romance haven't much place in a manga like that to begin with. We are following females who gave up their lives (unwillingly most of the time) to have demons flesh integrated in their corpses, and who suffered for years because of that, which made them distance themselves from their corpses. Add the fact that humans are scared of them and you will understand romance has little to do with this
I can imagine a platonic romance between Raki and Clare though, and maybe later a real romance between them (though I think Raki could soon end up with Priscilla), but they are the exception which confirms the rule...

it was Helen, i looked it up:

but i remembered it wrong. she said "it cant be your child"

so that rather indicates that its impossible for claymores to have children.

There are plenty of other reasons for Helen saying that. If Clare had a child, presumably the organization would have done something with the kid (it looks like Claymore are taken when they're kids, so if she had a child, it would be while she was a Claymore); someone would have seen him by now. The fact that she even considered that possibility implies that they can have kids, just that the evidence didn't point to it. (Presumably, Clare's treatment of Raki helped dispel that misconception.)
