Thread: Our Classic Cartoons

after much deliberation and meditation... i finally remembered where TheAbdicator's name was from.... it was the guy from the Hey Arnold! episode from a couple years ago. this got me thinking, i spend so much time watching anime and reading mangas that ive forgotten the wonderful little shows that shaped my childhood. ill never forget shows like Hey Arnold, The Angry Beavers, Tom and Jerry, Ren and Stimpy, Loony Tunes, Pinky and the Brain, The Animaniacs, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Quest, Thundercats, Godzilla, The Flintstones, Batman Beyond, and many more. i miss my old television shows and i think the quality of programming on networks like the WB and Nickelodeon has dropped, i know ren and stimpy was a little racy and extreme but damn did it leave an impression. is there anything you miss on tv? id give my left boob for Godzilla (and Godzukie!!!), Johnny Quest, or Tom and Jerry on DVD. but lest they are so ancient that will never happen and they are destined to fall into the oblivion of early 90s tv-never-to-be-seen-again pile of discarded excellence...

Don't fret too much. Future TV producers will reminisce the good old days and put the oldies back on air, but at isolated times like 4 am or something.

Look at Tom and Jerry and Loony Tunes, and Superfriends, Scooby Doo, Jabber Jaw, Flintstones, Jetsons, Droopy, Yogi Bear, etc.

do you have ANY idea how pissed i was when i found out that Big O (one of the first Toonami shows when Tom was a fat lil ball of steel) now comes on at FIVE AM!!!

I'm still pissed off Invader Zim was cancelled. Heck, all the good zany shows are cancelled, leaving nothing but stuff that copies Disney channel. -_-

Actually, I'm not very sure what cartoons are being shown now. I don't have a TV anymore.

To me 4 am will always be reserved for Teletubbies and Boobah. They have their tubby toast, I have my tubby reefer.


Naaah not really, but that show is GREAT when you've stayed up 72 hours in a row. I freaking can't get ENOUGH.

I only watch Boobah when I feel like knowing what it's like to do drugs, without the drugs.

You all forgot The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and James Bond jr. and the other early 90's late 80's really funny cartoons

I think I might start a cartoon maraton since weekend started.. :P

(oh yeah, mutant turtle ninjas ruled.. and what was called that show where were the mutant tomatos that eat buildings and such.. I dont remember O.O)

How can anyone forget Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Oh yeah, there was the one show (I can't remember the name) where there where these mice-men and they battled a mafia-tycoon "kingpin" villain, and the show always ended an episode with the bad guy's headquarters tower being destroyed in some random hilarious way.

you need the extended cable that has all three nickalodians .. invader zim comes on twice a night..

i miss She-ra, He-man, Roninn wariorrs, The ORIGINAL my little ponies, Rainbow bright, Pound Puppies, Crow, and theres another about faries and i cant remember what it's called..hmmmm..
oh yeah i almost forgot.. daved the gnome, Koala brothers , eurikas castle, doug,
