Idiots can become non-idiotic, I think. I haven't lived long enough to see an idiot become an intellectual yet, although my teachers have said so. I had a brilliant teacher who told me that when he was in grade school and all the way into high school, he was a mentally retarded. However, he gave great effort to improve himself with support from various institutions and eventually got a PhD.
