You can call me a heretic or moron or whatever. Didn't i write this already? I left the church behind me. I just kinda like this topic, thats all. I never was and never will be a beliver and if it wasn't for my parents i would have never joined the church. I was babtismed forcefully while i was a baby, it wasn't my free will. I belive in one thing only, and that is, that you are what you are and one alone makes his desicion what path to walk. I chouse my path for myself and i don't regret anything.

By the way. It wasn't really my idea to mentaly hurt the feelings of one who belives in god. It is just my oppinion as a trueblodded nonbeliving beeing.

    Its a very famous passage...

July, for you, I will quote something I said on IRC, which I think applies in this case:

I am just tired of Christians being the whipping boy of the world, but it being "intolerant" to make fun of other religions. I make it a point to read up on each major religion, so I can understand it better. I have read parts of the Koran, the Vedas, The Communist Manifesto and various humanistis and athiestic texts, I have read Buddhist texts. Not so that I can become one of them, but so that I can understand where they are coming from when they say something, and understand their beliefs better. I feel this is a requirement for any learned person, especially anyone that feels they are allowed to comment on the beliefs of others. Maybe I hold people to a high standard, but the level of idiocy, arrogance, and ignorance in most of these posts is almost palpable.

    Okay, silly question here.

If you went to Hell and beat up everyone, including the Devil, are you obliged to escape Hell? Or would you just take over and eat everyone there?

I think that, if that happened, it would be a good place to turn into a hot springs...

I think you mistake something about me, jakko. I am very tolerant but i chouse my friends. Around my close buddys, there are three different religions. I don't hate or dislike anyone who doesn't give a real good reason to do so. And i do know a little about other religions and cultural groups and i didn't want to make fun of them, that you got wrong or maybe my type of writing things is a bit weird.

Try to follow my way of thinking.
No more gods = no more war about different religons.

But i think i wrote that too earlyer. Everyone has the right to think or belive what he wants as long as he's happy with it and if you are tolerant, then you should at least agree to this, don't you think.

No more gods=no more spiritual furfillment, no more comfort at the loss of a loved one, no more philosopy(Spelled right???).
Religion is a very personal thing, which is why i don't believe in organised religion. Even in the same faith people can believe in different things. Extremeists are the source of problems mainly. don't blame a faith for the actions of people, we would just find something else to war about.

Stalin and Chairman Mao were against all religion, and killed at least 50 million of their own people. Don't be so quick to judge the evils of religion, until you have seen what it is like without religion, when you have no moral compass to define what is right and wrong. By the way, that number is more than those killed in all religious wars in history combined. And no, I don't agree with your definition of tolerance. Tolerance is not agreeing with someone else's views, but not persecuting them for it. You are advocating persecuting those that don't agree with you, and I am not "tolerant" of that. And you have a right to think whatever you want, as long as you don't spread it to others in an offensive way, as you did. Believe that you are the Easter bunny for all I care, but don't ever make any of those offensive comments that you made to people you don't know, and don't understand what you truly mean.

They burned everything that didn't go there way like the Celtic culture.

And when there is no more religion, then we can have peace on earth (maybe).
    Celtic culture wasn't destroyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Who told you that?
It evolved with the coming of normans and vikings and was changed yet again by the english.

While I can't speak for July, I strongly doubt that it was a serious wish for your death. And I have no problem with you flaming the shit out of someone, but first you should demonstrate why they are wrong. Just take this as a suggestion.

Again, if this is the case then please explain why.

None of these follow from your premise. One can be spiritual without beliving in a god (e.g. Buddhists), one can get comfort at the loss of a loved one from other sources than religion (friends, family, etc.) and I can name at least half a dozen atheist philosophers if you so wish.

OK, now it's my turn to be offended. Do you really think that there are no secular ethical codes?
