Eh. The highest concentration of gay or bisexuals I've met is at University, followed by percentage at my high school.

I love gay men. As 1cor says, I have gay-ifying eyes.

I'm sorry, ShinWolf. *stares at him* It was a request. =P Maybe it will help you be more tolerant.

I honestly don't understand why everyone equates being a homophobe with intolerance. I am afraid of dentists, but does that mean I treat them as lower forms of life and am prejudiced against them? No. Homophobia is a natural feeling for most males, I myself am a bit of a homophobe. I have gay friends and work with gays, and do not treat them any different, or feel any different about them than anyone else. I just have a healthy love of keeping my butthole the same size as it is now, and I think that most males have an ingrained aversion to that practice. Homophobia is nothing to be ashamed of, when not taken to extremes, and when you don't allow it to influence your judgements on the individuals.

Char it isn't nice to say non-homoerotic when you are feeling him up at the sametime ... That's called lying. ^-^

But it's Daddy. He's just trying to help Uncle. =D

If you're afraid of something, you are more likely to treat it badly. Xenophobia has caused racism, religious intolerance, sexism... we fear because we can't understand it, and that causes an intolerance of it. Which leads to unfair treatment.

There was a time when I was somewhat homophobic, I will admit. Maybe four years ago, or more. I wouldn't say I would treat homosexuals badly - maybe be a bit afraid, or not understand, but that could easily be interpreted as mistreatment. I'm not at all afraid now. I don't like women hitting on me, but that doesn't mean I'm afraid of homosexuals in general, or I dislike them. Being afraid or worried that someone is going to hit on you because they're gay is not being afraid of gay people in general. That's a normal feeling. I'm afraid of MEN I don't like hitting on me. A phobia is an illogical fear. Being afraid of homosexuals because you don't understand them is illogical.

On the other hand, if you like lesbians but not gay men, you're just intolerant.

Not saying anyone here is... but there are some I've seen who would fit into that category.

I don't mistreat gays. I just find it disgusting in my own way. I don't insult or make them feel down or anything. I just don't talk to them. And if they talk to me I answer with a quick short answer, so they get the idea I don't like them. I do this with everyone I hate.

Can a person be homophobic and tolerant of gay people at the same time?
