I don't think that's necessarily a bad idea. I learned from Sesame Street - not a lot, because I was reading by the time I was three (actual books) but it's not the worst show out there.
As for the sex thing... I've been exposed to the knowledge of sex when young (thank you school; I don't remember a time when I DIDN'T know how babies were made), but it hasn't made me any more inclined to do so. Not all people have. Media isn't the only thing influencing younger people to have sex. People want to act older than they are - children's dress-up games, for example - and drinking and all at a young age is because they think it's "cool", and also because they're rebelling in a way. I know I'm allowed to drink alcohol at home. I don't want to. I have been exposed to a large amount of media (I mean, I live in a city) and yet I feel no more inclined to do those things than I would to, say, kill someone or shoplift or whatever. I'm not the only one. We can't just blame media for everything.
