kosher cellphones. seriously.
'Kosher Phone' Rings True to Some
Boasting a rabbinical seal of approval but lacking features included in most other gadgets of its kind, the "kosher phone" is calling out to some ultra-Orthodox Jews. "There's interest out there in a conservative phone," said Abrasha Burstyn, CEO of the Motorola subsidiary in Israel that developed the device. And the kosher phone is all about conservative: It doesn't do text messages, pictures, video or internet access. It's just for making calls -- and it blocks more than 10,000 numbers for phone sex, dating hot lines and other morally murky services. More than 20,000 kosher phones are in use, and two other Israeli companies are developing similar devices, the Associated Press reports. But the ultimate endorsement might be the fact that some Arab companies have taken an interest in marketing a similar phone -- to conservative Muslims.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

you think its racist? I'm not seeing that... care to explain?
just because it concerns Muslims and Jews doesnt make it racist. seriously.
thats so lame...I like all the gizmos on cell phones these days. Cell phones are like the new swiss army knife.
I would like a phone like that. I would only use a cellphone when I am away from a corded phone(I don't like portable phones becuase of Wifi and the possibility of power outages), and I like the blocked numbers idea. All in all, seems like a good phone...
ever notice how I tend to put off responding my views on my threads? I just did, lol...
/me raises eyebrow
No real opinon either way, seems somewhat strange though. Strange but logical.
I would buy this phone. The reason I don't own a cellphone already is because of all those special features...I don't want to pay for those. (Instant messaging? Computer. Pictures? Digital camera. This is why I have these things.)
Of course, this assumes that the phone will cost less than a spiffy cellphone with extra features...
I dont use the instant messaging or internet capabilities of my phone, so it doenst really hinder me in any way. I do however make use of my camera built into the phone. At 1.3 megapixels, its really not too bad, and it comes in handy occasionally. I wouldnt care about the blocked numbers, since I dont call services like that. Keep in mind that it can be irritating to carry around a digital camera everywhere, since I dont walk around with a purse. On the other hand, my phone is always on and always on my person, so its very convinient.
