lol. Yeah, that was the Civil War DE. Southerners are below the Mason-Dixon line, Northerners above (only in terms of US states).
Wait,I thought that the freeing African American slaves wasn't the main reason. And they really didn't free any,the slave states that stayed with the Union got to keep their slaves
Until one has given everything, one has given nothing.
Correct. The Emancipation Proclamation freed the slaves in the South(which the Union didn't control) but kept the slaves in the Northern states slaves. It was just a political move. The war was part because of economics, part because of different social conflicts, but mostly because the South wanted to be seperate from the North, and the North didn't want that.
wow, talk about topic deviation, although it was an intriguing discussion.
The way I say the f word in my tongue is frggr yggur.
You Nordic or something?
Not really sure where that is, actually. Oh well. *shrugs* We're Canadians. All we need to know is that we like peace and we like whoever we're allied with, which might be the US right now, but we're not sure, and we have beavers.Originally Posted by Aikido

Well, most of them are oblivious. I don't know a lot about history, but I do know a fair amount about current events. Thank you, bookstores and Internet. You have taught me far more than school ever could (would).
