It is, in fact, possible to burn water.

That didn't happen to me. The water stayed in the pot and it burned. -_-;;
And then I burned the ramen soup while cooking it, but that's more plausible.
Water just doesn't evaporate for me... not even when I want it to...

Water can't burn.
It should boil and evaporate.
What's probably burnt in your pot is some kinda residue from some type of food you cooked.

I washed it out, though, and there was nothing left in it. I even refilled the pot. o_o
