any 4kids voices make me want to shoot the tv just to make them stop talking. but some english voices are ok. if you stay on one voice too long then switch the language it sounds weird.

Downgrading, if an anime subbed with other languages than Japan. Sometimes, the english's seiyuu isn't matching with the character they subbeb (have you ever watched One Piece anime in Australia in channel 4Kids? Sanji-kun's seiyuu?)
Moreover, some Japanese language is very "catchy" or very fit into a situation, for example,"Kisama...." (in low degrading voice, making a serious and flaming situation). Try to change to English subbed,"You bastard..." (now, is the word "bastard" can be used in low degrading voice?)

i preffer the japanese lanjuage...for example
Full metal Alchemist: i don't like the lanjuage in english and spanish...the voices don't fit in the characters.
Shaman King: think the same of this...english and spanish sounds very bad...japanese is better...
Gantz: japanse an spanish sound great in this serie...(i never saw the serie in english -.-)

i guess both can be good ..but sometimes its not ...in some cases it really sucks ..like when there is a sad moment the actor/ess dont play the role properly ..they dont get u to live the situation ..its sounds dull sometimes .. i dont know if u get my point but thats what i feel..

Most english dubs are painful, but I find anime done by Vancouver's Ocean Group is really good (Escaflowne, Gundam wing, gundam seed, inu yasha, cardcaptors, DBZ, etc.etc.). Oh and the Saiyuki english voice actors are absolutely awesome, i like the dubbed waaay better than the japanese version.
And i was walking in the mall once and passed by Richard Cox, the guy who plays Inu Yasha LOL I wanted to say hi to him, but that woulda been embarassing hahahaha

I personally prefer subs, but that applies to everything - not just anime. I like stuff best in the original language.

Dubbing doesn't bother me in principle, it's what companies have to do to get thier product out there - what bothers me is when they can't get the names right. I live in Vancouver and am so tempted to go to Ocean Group's office and go "Ok kids, quick Japanese lesson". It's a little sad when they can't pronouce thier own character's name right, not to mention the same way twice.

Overall though I think dubs as a whole are getting better each year, though I still wait for DVDs to come out so I can watch it raw or subtitled.

Well, the english voices for Cowboy Bebop were actually very good. I felt like it really matched up with the Japanese voice acting.
