Thread: Carrying knives. What do you think about it...

I've been around knive since the age of two, lol. My father was a military nut and insisted that I sleep with knives in my crib and well that became a habit.

my room is full of everything from knives to crossbows, haha.

Being the knife fanatic I am, and add that to my paranoia.. I carry two Heavy Bowies, Plain, 12.63 in. Black Kraton G Handle straped to my back for easy access every day, everywhere I go, and because of that my live has been saved twice because of it.

Had a pen knife. Lost it. Woried about some kid picking it up and hurting hemselves, don't carry them anymore. If I get in any trouble then i'm doomed but we'll all get over that.

I've thought about it-- I work in a rough bar district and go home late at night with a lot of cash. The brothers usually like to hang around and create trouble late night. Watched a guy get jumped the other day for no reason... so ghetto.

I always have a speed opener on hand-- It's got a fairly flat metallic edge and enough strength to do some fairly good damage. Threaten to make a necklace outta someone's teeth makes them back down from a potential mugging pretty quickly.

I do not carry one anymore, cause my father found i snatched his :P anyway, when i say knife i do not count swiss army knifes. They are just tools. I mean real 10 inch knifes. Razor sharp. And with bone handle. From where i am it is ok for someone to have his gun with him, so it is not that weird to acrry a knife or a handgun.

i think that knives , as lighters (i carry on my zuippo all the day), are very useful, buth i do not carry them by two main reasons:
_i could lose it (i am a bit distracted)
_i dont think i woulld use it (i am not the kind of guy who likes the violence)

Me, I can't wait until I turn 21 and can get my concealed carry license for a gun. I don't see why anyone dislikes guns, I have been using them since I was five, both for recreation and for hunting, and know how to use them reponsibly. After all, a gun is just a tool, like a car or a crowbar, and it is people that misuse it; guns are not inherently bad, just people. I doubt I will ever need it, but I follow the Boy Scout motto, to always be prepared. Personally Aurora, I don't see anything wrong with using a gun or a knife for self defense. Someone is violating you by attacking or atempting to mug you, and I see no reason to play fairely with someone like that. Plus, the mere threat of force can stop most fights or violent acts before they occur, and those tools certainly aid in that. Who here is fine with carrying a gun for self defense? I'm not saying that you actually carry one, but who here doesn't see a problem with them?

as long as you don't go crazy with your gun killing everybody, i'm fine with it -_-
or you could lose it, and a crazy man takes it and shot someone...

but i agree that if someone attack you, you don't need to be fair (if you didn't tease him beforehand of course !! >.>)

I dont really like,knives i think its cool,to see the many different things u can do with a knive,but i think they suck,i really prefer a blade like a katana if i had a katana i wouldnt leave it at the house as decoration,i would walk with it all the time,and for that i was going to quit tae-kwan-do and start kendo,but i couldnt find any kendo dojos where i live.So i will continue tae kwan do till i find anywhere that teach sword tecniques.
KATANA RULES

no knifes for me... i prefer training my body to be my weapon... but that's for self defense...


for practicality sake, i like to pull some mcguyver type-a-stuff....

I carry a butterfly knife all the time that I'm not at school. 3 1/2 inch blade. I've personally never had to pull it on anybody but it is nice to have it.
