    Default Should Barbie's Be BANNED?

Barbie deemed threat to Saudi morality
Saudi Arabia's religious police have declared Barbie dolls a threat to morality, complaining that the revealing clothes of the "Jewish" toy already banned in the kingdom are offensive to Islam.

"Jewish Barbie dolls, with their revealing clothes and shameful postures, accessories and tools are a symbol of decadence to the perverted West. Let us beware of her dangers and be careful," said a poster on the site.

The poster, plastered with pictures of Barbie in short dresses and tight pants, and with a few of her accessories, reads: "A strange request. A little girl asks her mother: Mother, I want jeans, a low-cut shirt, and a swimsuit like Barbie."

"It is no problem that little girls play with dolls. But these dolls should not have the developed body of a woman, and wear revealing clothes," al-Merdas said.

I have to debate with this freaking topic... I want to know what do you think.. (I'm againts banning by the way)

Ban Barbie (because it 'destroys' the mind of little girls)
Or DONT BAN BARBIE... (IT BRINGS JOY TO THE WORLD )

debate, introduce ideas, argumentations etc. Flames of this topic permitted..

hmm. interesting. I feel like banning a toy shouldnt really happen, but Barbies... I'm not so sure. They do have some (I think negative) affects on developing children. banned? maybe not... I just dont see myself getting barbies for my kid.

They do have a point I suppose, in saying that the dolls wearing revealing clothing are a bad influence on little girls. But don't a lot of women dress that way these days? If they don't see it on a doll then they're bound to see it somewhere else. And if the problem is the fact that little girls are playing with them in countries where it's frowned upon to dress this way, then why not just cover em up?

I feel sorry for the women in these kind of countries. It's not our job to question or make fun of their values, though.

I used to play with Barbie's when I was young. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I liked playing dolls as a kid, I just loved to play "Undress the Barbie" ...point is, it is somewhat of a bad influence, even to boys. It develops perversion at a young age

I liked playing with barbies too when i was younger. I don't think barbie is a bad doll or whatever i actually think it is a great idea to have a doll who looks like a mature woman. The way i used to play with my barbies were what i wanted to do later in life or things a woman do everyday. My barbie had a car, nice clothing a job - sometimes teacher, sometimes doctor, sometimes lawyer, astronaut and all XD, she even went to the groceries sometimes lol I also created little soaps or movies and ken was a serial killer running after barbie sometimes lol
Anyway, all that to say barbie plays an important role on the development of young girls, although i don't say girls who played with cars didn't developped well >< But i don't think barbies should get ban really.

Lots of muslims where I live. Their lives are more normal than you think. Some of the most devout muslims I've ever met are also the most troublesome students you can imagine. Plus, Barbie is hot.

I really don't think Barbie is that bad of a toy... I mean I’d rather a rector set or something, but other than Baribe ‘s aren’t really that bad as long as you understand that she is a toy and not the image of the perfect woman. It is fine.

I mean I played pirate and ninja's with my barbies... they usually had a hard time keeping there heads.
