Classes you can take in high school that count for college credit if you can pass a difficult (and overpriced) test at the end of the year.
Our school doesn't actually offer any AP classes, but I do take Advanced level classes... about 5-6 in a year. I like them better than the regular classes...
My crowning achievement in procrastination this year was researching and writing two 10 page papers in two days. And getting above a 90 on both. That bweing said, I think I got up once in the following, and just slept otherwise.

Anyways, regarding my situation...I'm a freshman in high school and it's easy as fuck. I take Latin, Accelerated Geometry, Accelerated Algebra II, Biology, World to 1500 (a history class, obviously), and English 9. I study Japanese outside of school and plan to pick up Spanish, German, and French soon. I was very good at French when I took it but I got tired of it...my teacher hated me.
Next year will be...quite a bit more fun. I'll be in Latin II, Accelerated Precalculus, AP Art History, AP Statistics, AP Modern European History, English 10, and Chemistry. Hopefully it won't be as boring as this year...
Don't worry, the classes don't really get fun till your junior year. That's usually when they allow you to take more than 3 AP's. By the way, how do you like Latin so far, I always hated all the declensions?
I've never understood the idea of AP classes - maybe because our system is so different in Canada. It seems that every time I have a discussion on school systems with an American member, Canada comes out as having an easier system because we don't have AP classes and our letter grades are lower or whatever, and...
Well, all I know about my own grades is that they're in the eighties (which we know as an A - NOT a B) and the nineties and I take academic courses (or university prep courses now). I am by no means a genius, but those are pretty damn good marks here.
We're not stupid in Canada.
Oh, and how many courses do Americans take in a year?! In a day? It just seems so different and incomprehensible to me.
I'm Chinese, therefore I take ridiculously hard classes.
Ooooh. I take classes with Chinese people, does that make me smart? =P
No, but it makes them smarter than you. XP
I did better in some classes than some of them... well, except physics, but I can't do better than my friend!
