whoa acadian. nice word. I had to wiki it. cool background, though.

in more detail, im a mixture of all sorts of European descent. Polish, Spanish, Czech, etc. My mom's side was some sort of middle nobility a while back, which, to the careful observer, can be seen in my high cheek bones. (not, like, weirdly high, just.... blah. i think you get it).

the other side is all jews, so not much more to be said there. not too many landed jews.

I have no idea about the history of my dad's side they never talk about... I've been looking though... In my mind they were political refugees seeking refuge in America... And that works pretty well... because there was lots of political stuff going on around that time in that area…

I am equal parts Scottish, Irish, and German on all sides of my family that I am aware of. My family is mostly Presbyterian, but some Baptists, and we can trace parts of our ancestry back to William Wallace. My family has immigrated from Scotland, to Ireland, to Germany, around Bremen and Allsaice(Sp?)-Lorraine. Most of my family lives around the Piedmont of North/South Carolina, mostly around Charlotte, Gastonia, Spartanburg, Clinton, and Sherrils Ford(not on any map, you have to live around that area to know where that is). We moved to America in two groups, one in 1730, which settled around Charlotte, Gastonia and Sherrils Ford, and again in 1850, when my family settled around Charlotte, Gastonia, Spartanburg, and Clinton. My grandmothers family on my fathers side I know little of, except that they were white trash living on the Mississippi Delta and she grew up in a broken down glass factory, and seems to be ashamed of her family and won't tell us about them. My grandfather on that side was an electrician from farming stock who never graduated high school and met my grandmother when he and many other Bell South workers went to restore power to Mississippi after a big power outage in '52, and he met her in Meridian in a pseudo boarding house/secretary training school. Though he never went to college, he encouraged his children to be educated, and my father went on to become a doctor, which is what I my goal is, and why I am taking heavy biology courses. My grandfather on my mothers side is a farmer from Catawba County, and I help him with the farming in the summer, and my grandmother is a southern blue blood from Charlotte. Incidentally, one of my ancestors, a Compton, left home during the California gold-rush, and was never heard from again, but had the same name as the man who's property was purchased to make Compton, CA, so we think he might be the father of Compton(kinda ironic since he was white, no?). Well, sorry for the long post, but people round where I'm from have a passion for genealogy.

As far as I know, my family's Chinese. We've been Chinese, and will probably stay Chinese.
We were extremely poor until my parents emigrated to America. Now enjoy the life of an upper middle-class family.

    That's all, really.

My family came to this country from France in the 1890's to escape an inter-family blood fued (still raging today but no one even remembers what it was about).

I don't know much about my dad's side of the family, but my grandfather on my mom's side was pretty rich in china, but that all changed because of communism. He used to be a photographer for a newspaper, and all his photos got trashed =(
