what do you mean ??
it can be mandriva as well as suse or debian or gentoo or etc.
the only thing i can say is that it's a kde graphical environnement.... (i think )

of course i'm speaking of the opened window, because this screenshot has been taken from a computer using windows...

There are a few programs out there to do that, but that screenshot doesn't look at all familiar.

Maybe its loged into another computer.. who knows.

for me, it seems that it's a windows XP user with a VNC like window open to control another computer running linux (with kde)....

it's windows with another theme and some extra, and a vnc client open which shows another computer screen running linux with basic kde...

I want to start using linux, however I don't have a computer of my own and my parents don't want me to mess anything up... Although I would probably want to start out with something more advanced, since I am what you would call computer savvy.

I would wait untill you get your own box to mess with. Much easier. You don't need a top of the line computer to learn. You can run some linux destros on a Pentium.

Untill then, you can use a live CD (google Live CD, Knoppix, Slax) that will boot and run from the CDRom. At least then you can see what Linux is capeable of.

Linux is too complicated...i just have a mac...it jsut worx...and i am happy...now dont flame me!

this would seem to be...windows running widgets and wincustomize...with a program to connect to a remote comptuer which is running the KDE interface. as to WHAT linux it is...i do not know. there isnt enough info from this picture
