i was just thinking abt how much of a sick minded person he was, i dont know how many of u knows what the so called father of the psychoanalysis says,but ill give some example:Freud said that evry male child is attracted by his mother sexually and will or always wanted to kill his father for her ,kinda like oedipus without the part of oedipus not knowing jocasta was actually his mother.
Now i dont know how many of u guys does actually blieves him but i would like to ask what u guys think of this retarded "genius"

From what you said, i think you haven't read anything Freud wrote. Freud is much more than the oedipe complex. You should check it out. I don't agree with all of his theories but he was one of the first to actually be interested in the human beings mind and thoughts. Not every one of his theories are related to sexuality.

Sigmund Freud was a psychologist who created the psychoanalytic school of psychology in the early 20th century.

His theories are outdated today though, and only a few psychologists use them. I don't really know if there is much more to say. The guy was simply wrong on most points.

yea, basic psychology in highschool teaches about quite a few theorists n that many of freud's theories aren't really applied in any schools 2day, i guess he was important in the sense that he was a pioneer. he was quite concerned with subconscious psychoanaolgy n abnormal psychology i think, also very famous 4 a lot of his theories on child development. a child going thru like, a gazillion stages, even b4 reaching teenagehood. then there's his stuff on the id, ego n superego. but i think angra was somewhat right in the sense that a lot of his theories r based on sexual desire. i dunno but i mean do we really need 2 discuss stuff like this from highschool text books? snoresville...

I like the theories he has about religion though. I think Freud can sometimes be very interesting to read. I studied him in hs too but that was only the tip of the iceberg really. I then took some psychology classes in uni.

Freud is great, he was a brilliant mind, and is no worse that you or me. Possibly.

i have a baby brother....he's more atrracted to me and my sister than my mother...the only time he pays her attention is when shes in the kitchen...but then he starts crying when she leaves the house. all it takes is a cookie to keep him quiet! I don't believe in that theory anyways.(im female and i hope non ofyou are actually.. like.. into your mother or anything)

Freud is the "father" of psychology for attracting interest to the field. His ideas were pretty outrageous,possibly because he was taking cocaine (legally). Only the freudian slip and his dream analyzis is still in use today.
His child psychology was replaced by Piaget's and most other things were thrown out the window.
Modern psychology stemed more from a germen dude in the late 1900s that first started using.............modern research method.
