    Default Baduk/WeiChi/Go

This is a thread about Baduk(otherwise known as go)
    A breif summary about it:
Go is a board game played on a 19x19 board with 361 points on the board(360 degrees in a circle and 261 because its polar). Its between two players and the objective is to get the most territory from capturing or aquiring territory.Go is VERY addictive.Go is as addictive as many of us are addicted to anime and manga. Its that addictive.

Right now I Hanul am willing to teach, just find me in #HS or AIM me.Zeh is also willing to teach (though he should actually get stronger before he starts teaching). If more and more people play we might ahve our own little tournament along with a ranking sheet.

    Ranking sheet:
    Hanul
others(ill put you in once i can get a clear idea of who is stronger than who)

im getting pwned to an absurd extent.

the server thought it would be funny to give me the rank of 19k?. but im not even 30k?. meaning i get to get pwned a lot. .... .... i am getting sick of losing...

losing isnt so bad.. but getting destroyed... thats... not so much fun...i wish there was just a place to practice....

I think the object of the game is to have as many of your own pieces on the board. The best strategy is to trap your opponents pieces. (encircle them). This will force them to remove those pieces from the board.

Though, I'm not entirely sure. I don't follow chinese games very well.

Thats somewhat of how it is.Your supposed to have the most territory (the intersections) to win.Think of it like a buisness, you want to be number one in your industry. So you need to eliminate the competition,or atleast gain the most out of it.You need to make sure your competetion doesnt try to take over your company (invading your territory),while at the same time your trying to take over his(invading their territory) And you shouldnt invest too much in your own company incase that company fails (opponet was sucessful in capturing a large amount of your stones,or invading a good peice of your territory) In the end its who made the biggest profit.

The strategy is supopsed to gian the most territory, capturing is only a side thing, but capturing is very important because if you capture, then you gain yourself a peice of territory and a good strong point at what could be the beginnings of a large amount of territory

Oh yeah and if you want to learn just aim me and we can set up a game in 5 minutes tops
