    Default America

Sooo... I kinda feel like all the old white people in the country just collectively declared the Fourth Reich this last election. Thoughts?

I don't fucking understand those people. But anyway, that's how it works in 'Murica, it seems. Obama looks like he's tired of all this shit anyway.

    The Dems did it themselves.

They're such pussies. They did all these things, improved the economy, added jobs, gave people healthcare, and for the entire campaign all they could do was run in circles squealing how they were so unlike our devil of a president and all his evil ways. Stupid fucks deserve to have lost.
    Henchy432 and krazykwasi like this.

Hmmm. Not sure what exactly happened there in the US. My knowledge of US politics pretty much comes from Foxnews or Cracked. Probably not the best sources out there.

So what's the end result here - people were unhappy and went running back to conservatives? Oh, I mean republicans.

Does it actually make a difference there?

Its hard to explain, but if you want I'll do my best. But it'll be long. And probably biased. Really biased. Because itll involve trying to wrap your brain around the brazenness of the lies and the inability of the populace to vote for their own self interest instead of the interests of a few comically powerful and criminally insane oligarchs and plutocrats we have here in America

Well some time has passed and I'm a little bit calmer now and I think I can kinda explain what happened to this country.

I don't really know where to start though... This last election which was a overwhelming Republican victory secured them a fucking TON of state legislatures and governorships, an almost insurmountable majority in the House, and a gigantic majority in the Senate. Politics has not been this one sided since World War II. Now one would THINK that this meant they had some sort of ideas that they put forward and clobbered the Dems with but nope. Not one fucking idea. They just capitalized on the exponentially growing white hatred of Obama and hispanics in this country and rode that wave to victory.

Now thats a pretty fucked up thing to say but there is no logical other way to describe it. Their official message seemed to be "Obama is letting Ebola ridden ISIS jihadists from Guatemala into this country and turning them into citizens and giving them evil socialist healthcare". Their victory was compounded by a series of failures by the Dems to show any sort of spine whatsoever on any issue. It kinda seemed like every Republican candidate just saying the word "Obama" over and over again and skillfully spinning away from saying anything about any of their absolutely nonexistent ideas to fix any of the problems of this country, many of which they don't even acknowledge are even problems to begin with.

But it gets worse. Because this gigantic Republican sweep only occurred because of what we are now realizing was the lowest voter turnout ever. EVER. Or at least since the vote was entitled to more than just white property owning men. Which is fucking ridiculous. Pretty much the only people who voted were old angry white people and every single other demographic of people basically tuned the fuck out and stayed the fuck home on Election day. Voter turnout was somewhere in the low thirties and judging by the margin of victory the "will of the people" amounted to about 17% of the people choosing every single level of government. Lets not even forget the estimated 7 million people who COULDNT vote because they had been disenfranchised by voter ID laws. Brand new laws, dreamed up by Republican think tanks, supported only by Republican governors, passed only by Republican state legislatures, straight out of the Jim Crow era. Voter suppression at its finest.

Sounds awful and trust me it feels fucking terrible. They made the election a referendum on the president, whilst offering no real plan of action besides that. So right now the country is in the midst of one big breath holding gasp to see if the GOP will actually be able to govern on a platform of "we hate the president" and nothing else, no one knows what that looks like and its kinda scary to think about. But it doesn't end there, because despite that a bunch of weird liberal policies got enacted at the same time. A few more states legalized weed for instance, a few cities hiked their minimum wage, and few other small things. I'll go into more detail later because im getting tired of typing and I'd really like to go back through this and link articles to explain the topics I bring up. I'll either edit this or just dp later.

Edit: There are hyperlinks throughout this post. click em for more info lol.
