I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I assume it's the new visual theme (the US version seems to be sporting a new layout)?
Kotaku.com.au still looks the same as always, and I hope it stays that way.

It's not just the theme, it's bugged to hell, is slow and poorly designed.
Someone at gawker fucked with it, now it's a broken soulless mess. Hence "raped".
EDIT: Hmmmn, .au. I think you might be onto something there (until Gawker finishes their hate campaign).

All of the Gawker media sites (io9, lifehacker, kotaku) adopted the new layout.
I pretty much get all of my news (gaming or otherwise) from reddit nowadays, so this doesn't really impact me. Sad to see a once-great site like kotaku go down the drain though...
