    Default News sources.

What news sources do you guys often use?

I live in the UK so obviously I use mostly UK news sources. But what sources do you use in America? Do any of you still read print media? Are there regional differences to what you guys read?

I read the Daily Mail and The Sun (for the news entertainment, not the boobies. lol) in paper format. For news sites I use the BBC and Kotaku.
I also watch the BBC news channel and I will occasionally watch the news on NHK world.

There's not much going on in the country where I live in so the content of the daily newspaper and the tv news is almost the same, so I only read the newspaper.

I also read the news in yahoo whenever I have the time to get the updates of the world.

I read the local newspaper every day - mostly just the national/global news that interests me. I'll check their website when on vacation, too, or the sites of local news TV channels when I want news on some important local event I just heard happened.

I'd really like to diversify my sources and read articles from other sources, though - that aren't necessarily Canadian, for instance. I enjoy reading about world news the most, and obviously I'm a bit limited by sticking only to my local paper. What are some good sites for that?

(I... also check a few LJ sites for... less... intellectually stimulating news. But hey, they sometimes have good articles on technology, politics, things like that; don't judge me!)

radio, facebook, yahoo, and whatever pops up in my igoogle newsfeed. Yea, I listen to the radio on my daily 1hr commute to work. Often it's stupid pop-culture news so don't read too much into it. Yahoo and iGoogle I read when I'm bored and it's not bad cause the stories are nice and quick.

I used to read a newspaper for the last 15 years that I can't read anymore recently, mainly because it's quality turned down (like so many other newspapers recently) and my own political view changed from conservative-liberal to conservative-right. There are too many left newspapers here in Germany and only a few rightwingers that you can read.
Online, mostly Spiegel, 2 rightwing newspapers called Die Welt and Junge Freiheit, Political Incorrect and Telepolis.
Then some alternative international sites, cause I can't deal with BBC and NYT...

My personal favorites in english language when I check for International News:

    1. Global Research - http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=home

    2. Foreign Policy
    http://www.foreignpolicy.com

    3. Uncensored News
    http://uncensored.co.nz/

    4. Information Clearing House
    http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/

    5. What Really Happened
    http://whatreallyhappened.com/

    6. American Foreign Policy
    http://www.americanforeignpolicy.org/

Fuck established media giants like News Corp.

Oh yeah, and I go to /new/ sometimes.

People say it's the worst board on 4chan but they got a lot of interesting news and discussions... Sometimes...

OH. I forgot - I also read Macleans, which is a weekly news magazine rather than a paper, and I check that site on occasion, too. Too much Canadian.

Wow, morten, you check a lot of news sources...

Pretty much exclusively from http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ ... occasionally I'll watch marathon sessions of CNN and MSNBC... and Fox just so I can yell at the TV. Once in a while when I'm feeling academic I'll read the New York Times. If I'm home I try to keep up with The New York Daily News... Thats it really. Its mostly just HuffPost though.

Google News for my news source

from there, if there is a BBC/Reuters/Christian Science Monitor article i'll usually choose that. I find that those sources are fairly unbiased and high-quality.

if it's sports, entertainment or tech - it really doesn't matter which source i choose (Wired always does really good write-ups though)
