Thread: Anybody knows the schedule of Japanese Highschool and school holidays like golden?

anybody know when the time for these are?

Golden week is a series of national holidays all packed in to the space of a week, and basically during that time school kids and some workers get the week off.

??? high school holidays? you mean like national holidays right? School holidays always vary on the school, so you would have to go to the school itself and ask them....


anyway for the national holidays that I can remember

Golden week *usually the first week of may*
Obon usually the second week of august (some people do it in june july but most business are off in august for it. . .its not really a national holiday but its a religious holiday so businesses close for it)
Christmas is not a holiday

New years is a holiday and the first week of Jan

School year usually ends sometime at march (different depending on the school)

there's usually at least one holiday per month except June.

anything more specific than that and you would usually need to get a calendar.

i think i heard that school year starts in april. if end of school year ends at march, then what breaks do they have? christmas? what about mid-term holidays?
