Of course no one would pay money for a site that is 100% illegal. Without it's content, Onemanga and Mangafox are worth bullcrap. Plus, the quality of scanlations at their online readers was low quality.

Google doesn't always look for a site content, so you can hide it from their spiders
And if your site have a very high traffic Google will pay you money for ads

one thing that these publishers have missed out, and it very vital to their sale of mangas...
some of us read manga scans online, and if I happen to like a certain series, i will go on and buy it...
in fact, it is my only way of determining if a manga is worth me buying it or not >.<
to tell the truth, most mangas doesn't display a blurb on wad's the story's a bout in general...

i'm sory for i am indeed a nubbie in this posting area, but since OM has removed all of its content, surely i would go back downloading all of these mangas.
yeah i guess we have been pampered too much with such easiness of reading it online,
but later on other media and other approach will be release as technology do GROW! (sory for the broken english and literature)
and maybe sooner, these mangas will be easily downloadable via Apps, its not that i am saying i'm such a lazy bum~ (eventho its a bit true) i bought lots of mangas, and the collection of dragonball is still in my rack, (see those dragon and all the characters at every volumve ^^)
but still, as countries with poor connections with Japan on mangas, its hard to get it by date
(such as GS mikami, been collecting it for awhile, and it juz fall half way) in my case is Malaysia
Not craving for such old mangas to be brought back, but when it is not that popular in the country itself then it would stop publish it. thats the hard part of the deal, (i even had to pre order it thru ebay LOL)

anyway, good luck on finding all the sites and all the mangas ^^ V

What I don't understand is why they don't take a page out of Funimation's book and just buy the rights to One Manga and the rest of the Manga Reader sites, leave them free and line the tops and sides with add's like everyone else has done in response to piracy.

With the number of hits these Manga sites get on a regular basis and the application of proper product placement they could rake in a fortune. They could still charge a reasonable fee (5$ p/mo) to cover their bottom line if they had to and still probably turn a profit.

As it stands now terminating these sites in their entirety does nothing but cut off fans and potential fans from ever picking up/finishing their series as there is absolutely zero outlet for up to date or mostly compiled manga besides hosting sites. Most chapters released in the US are 4-5 years behind and the contained chapters rarely reach into the 50's when series are currently on upwards of 200-500. The point is without providing an alternate while cutting off the only source will do nothing but detriment to their product and was nothing more than a foolish move on their part.
