The comic reminds me a little of FLCL, forget which ep. Anyway, I personally doubt that Atlantis exists, Plato was the one who came up with the idea and I don't find him very credible. As for the dinosaurs becoming extint, many of them evolved into birds (might have just been the surviving ones). Evolution has a few holes in it from missing species, yes, but that's because fossils are required, and frankly, not too many animals turn into fossils, and many of the ones that do get moved around/destroyed from plate tectonics.

I'm honestly surprised you believed this nonsense for a second. Your professor might be a scientologist just trying to recruit more dumbass members.

    *Sigh*

People are afraid of the skies foretelling the end of everything they hold dear...
WTF, you just have to look around deeper. Your species is already killing the planet.

Once again, I have to say this phrase.

Am I the only one here that doesn't believe that Humans are even remotely capable of destroying a planet; even its ability to support and generate life?

We can burn it. We can pollute it. We can desertify it. We can even cover it in radiation; but in the end we're doing nothing to nature that is beyond its own capability to recover from. Now whether or not we, as a species, will be able to render this entire planet's ecosystem to be unable to sustain us and most things that share our kind of life-needs is somewhat believable.

That doesn't mean nature wont simply absorb our corpses and move on.

^ Well, its definitely true that if humans leave a certain place, it'll eventually recover...

Humans were once nomadic creatures, so whatever it did got taken cared of. But when he finally settled, the small problems piled up, and piled up, and piled up...

The thing is, human's mess can still be cleaned up by nature, IF HUMANS STOP OR REGULATE THEIR ACTIONS (which, by the way, is being done with clearly slothful behavior).

Why be afraid of the dead when the living around you can kill you?
Why be afraid of the skies if the trash on the streets can kill you?

Humans are intelligent that's why we can destroy Earth.. We seek for convenience and create objects without knowing the consequences. We even dare to consider ourselves as HIGHEST FORM CREATION.. I say, it's bullshit.. Intelligence is not a blessing.. it's a curse..

Well it's hard for humans to change their pathetic side since we can't control ourselves. Selfishness and laziness usually overwhelm. We complain so much about inconvenience that we force to change the natural growth and cycle of the Earth, which obviously brings catastrophe.

If there's something that can really wipe out humans, I hope it will come and do so.. soon!

No, he's actually right. The surest sign of idiocy is the refusal to change your views when presented with evidence that proves them false. And given that there is no way that you could have missed my list of absurdities inherent in your claims, this is exactly what you are doing.

So yes, you are in fact a goddamn idiot. Think before you post next time.

Theoretical models predict that a full-scale thermonuclear war would not only destroy large areas of the earth outright, but the amount of dust and debris thrown into the upper athmosphere could cause a drastic drop in the global temperature, thus leading to a global or near-global ice age. Of course, whether this really would kill all life on the planet is debatable, and the models also assume a larger stockpile of warheads than currently are in operation, but it is certainly a likely possibility.

So we do have a shot at causing total extinction. Go us.
