i don't get how it was traumatic though. i think the girl over reacted.

I think the girl's reaction was justified. If you don't ask for volunteers you just look like an idiot when you tie up two random kids.

Teacher is a retard for doing this, but the kid is completely overreacting.

What a load of crap. If the teacher had pulled out a gun and blown away her friend, spraying brain all over, I could undertand the kid being 'horrified' and 'traumatized'. This is just the family prepping to sue. I mean the kid sat on the floor, under a desk. If that's enough to wreck the rest of her school year, then she's probably a retard and should be grateful that the teacher bothered to notice her existence.

I think it was a overreaction. I once drew a cartoon Hitler on a test, with him saying "I was wanted to be dancer". The teacher(she was Jewish) spoke to me after class and tired to give me a guilt trip.

Stupidity on both parties.

Teacher: The traumatized girl did not volunteer yet the teacher chose her... and why? Because she was black? You can teach a lesson on slavery and use OTHER students too. Why didn't the teacher pick a white student or whatever? This was unnecessary and stupid.

The girl: She didn't volunteer but the teacher chose her. So what? If the teacher picks you to do something you don't want, something like tying you up to demonstrate conditions on slave ships, well just say "No." Duh? Exercise some free will, why don't ya? And if the teacher insists you do this and maybe puts your grade on the line, well give her the finger and say, "Fuck you, you masochist, tie someone else up."

I had a teacher teach all the benefits of slavery before...

This girl is just overreacting. I don't see enough problems with the teacher's teaching style that demands any sort of disciplinary actions from principles/authorities/whatever.

Ha, stupid story. First, there's nothing saying that the teacher picked the girl cos she was black. He probably just picked some random kid. For all we know, most of the class was black.

And yeah, if she had a problem with it, she could have just said something. I very much doubt the teacher was getting other kids to hold her struggling body down while she bound and gagged her. If she had have shown any discomfort at all during the actual act, I'm sure the teacher wouldn't have continued. I'm sure this is all just shit the family made up once the kid got home.
