Thread: Boy runs away from home, dies miserably

i have mixed feelings about this. on one hand, i feel sorry for the family who spent a long time hunting for their son. on the other hand, i don't really feel sorry for the kid. it's hard to feel sad about a kid who became addicted to games, got pissed off when his parents finally put their foot down, and ran away from home.

How the hell, did the kid die? Did he frickin' fall or something?

My sympathy goes out to the family for having to deal with that dumb kid.

I bet the deer got him, no one suspects the deer.

and the parents took the wrong decision, when a kid wants to run away, you don't help them pack (NEVER) that makes them believe they are no longer wanted at home or at the very least gives the message that his parents are pissed and actually don't want him back and makes the person in question disappear and wait until his parents beg for forgiveness (Pride is a great thing)

as a former runaway (for 8 days and I was much more smarter than this kid -_-) I can say that those small brags and the words "You will be back by dinner" do wonders to keep a runaway kid motivated

I was much smarter, I got a few of my friends to give me shelter, and 2 days after my disappearance I told them to tell my parents I wasn't coming back until they apologized and 8 days and quite a few party's (in with my body learned to handle alcohol "lots") they apologized... I guess the fact that I am a very ill person made them swallow their pride and bow to me... that felt GREAT... back on topic now I am older and I know better, but this kid should have used his common sense... but is too late >_>

Maybe he can still win a Darwin Award?

I don´t like jokes about the dead, but it really seems that kids are much dumber then they used to be...
But I guess thats not the kids, but the parents fault.

It was more then stupid to run away from home because of a video game, but even more stupid, that the father himself helped the kid pack and let hím go? The kid probably wanted to go home the minute after he left the house, but it was probably the feeling of dispair and knowing the father actually helped him pack, that made him so angry that he forced himself to stay away from the house. I dont see how its the kids fault..

You know the title here is misleading. There is no evidence to suggest that kid was miserable when he died. He was probably filled with pride and self importance, thinking about how guilty his parents would feel once he was dead. Too bad that none of that would matter, because he would be, um, dead.

Stupid kid should get a job to satisfied his gaming needs.

Stupid father, imo he should be sentenced because he violated his duty for supervision with death result.

Here, in germany, you get some 10-20 years for that.
