    Short term, smoking feels good.

Thats why people (myself included) smoke, and thats why people will always continue to do so. If i wasnt shortening my lifespan with smoking im sure the built up stress that smoking alleviates would do the same thing.
It didn´t feel good when I smoked one. Even If it gets better when you smoke more, there are enogh better, less expensive things, which are good from the beginning, not after X tries.
(like comics, fungi or soft cheese soufflé)

Personally I hate the smell of cigarette smoke but I don't care if people smoke in their own private homes/establishments.

What you do in private (legally of course) is your own business, go smoke yourself silly or whatever. What really pisses me off is when people smoke where they shouldn't.

About a week ago, I was with some friends at an amusement park. We had been walking for a while and decided to take a break and sit on some benches which were near the bumper cars.
So the bumper cars are enclosed in a metal-bar fence about 3 ft. tall. There's a couple signs on the gate, bumper car rules, warnings, and a no-smoking sign. This lady is standing next to the sign, smoking and watching the little kids drive their bumper cars. Of course first thought in my mind was, "Is this bitch blind?" To miss a no-smoking sign bigger then my 22-inch widescreen monitor, no way in hell she could have missed it. Fortunately I was in a good mood so I politely asked, "Hi ma'am, has smoking fried enough of your brain to where you can't notice a no-smoking sign?" Turns out she was blind! No I'm kidding she wasn't blind she was just REALLY CRAVING A SMOKE but didn't want to lose sight of her kid driving around in the bumper cars. Daaaaamn people >.>

I also hate when people smoke on campus. One of these days I just want to punch one in the face and shout, "Surprise!"

People can smoke if they want to. It's their choice. Just as long as I don't have to smell it, I am okay with it. I wouldn't want someone who is close to me to smoke though but I've never really had that problem.

y'know, i wonder who ever thought, "hey, what if i take some of this, stuff it into a roll of paper, and stick it into my mouth and inhale?"

maybe cigarettes or cigars were used to start fires or something.

You know, I'm pretty sure it would've started out as people burning tobacco plants in fires and liking it. From there it went to pipes as mini fires and finally cigs as the culmination of centuries of work. Sweet.

I really hate it when I'm eating and people smoke around me. It pisses me off. I don't do it to other people, so they shouldn't do it to me.
