My apologies. The intention of my post was neither to belittle nor be disrespectful to anyones culture or beliefs.

The dirty little secret is that the Taliban never left. They were about to break back in 2002-2003, but then W had to start his little sideshow over in Iraq instead of finishing the job. As for the reason the Taliban still fight on, it's purely a matter of fanaticism. Manpower isn't any real problem as the Taliban get lots of foreign volunteers and locals who are bribed or threatened into supporting them.


And to veer slightly off-topic, kid and co are again demonstrating their utter ignorance about world history in general, and the history of the muslim world in particular. By any reasonable standard Islam really isn't worse than any other Abrahameic religion. Which by extension would mean that it's pretty bad overall, but that's a discussion I won't start here. But from that fact does not follow that muslims in general are bad people.

I will however cite a counterpoint to the kid's nonsense by pointing out the Abbasid Caliphate and the early Ottoman Empire, both of which were shining bastions of religious tolerance compared to western europe at the time.
