Keep in mind that while countries have huge debts they also have huge incomes. It certainly is possible to pay off a national debt if one plans in the long term, or at least keep it down to a manageable level. Or at the very least to keep the debt from growing.

Well, to get into debt you need someone to borrow from. That someone expects to get his money back someday, and with a bit of interest on top. As we're talking about countries we must be aware that any government's primary source of income is taxes. As a government with a large debt needs to pay a lot in interest the government in question must either tax its citizens more that they would otherwise, or spend less money than they would otherwise. Usually the government does both.

But in any case the citizens of the country with a large debt have to pay higher taxes and get less service from the government that they would if the government didn't have to pay interest on their loans. Most people consider this a bad thing, and therefore it generally is considered unwise to spend more money that you get from taxes. Naturally there are exceptions, but that's the general theory.

And on a general note, the economic troubles that the US is going through are the direct results of irrational and shortsighted economic policies in the US. The economic growth has gone almost entirely to the upper classes, thus leading to a relative pauperization of the middle and lower classes. And this serves to erode the tax base, stifle domestic demand and cause negative external effects (i.e. a general lower standard of living), thus hurting long-term economic stability. The problems also could be solved, or at least lessened by tougher government regulation and interventionism, beginning with policies to lessen the income gap.

and that is just a bit of Economy 101, we should make several threads to inform the average person about all this, or at least point them in the right direction…

However that is too much work and I ain’t a teacher, I live my own life and I won’t help anyone that is not willing to help themselves, the least all of you that are reading all this interesting info is to check if we are speaking the truth, BUT HELL NO don’t check the Wikipedia and claim we are wrong, true knowledge comes from hard work and time, if you are not willing to look for the truth then just forget about everything we say and keep being a sheep for the shepherd’s to move around.

I have informed myself a lot in the past few weeks. And it amazes how much propaganda the corporate news is doing. One of the better ways to fix things is to fix the 1+ trillion dollar trade deficit. And 2nd, we should produce more, and stop so many companies from hire overseas workforce.
that's our main issue right now: Production.

this american style has even infiltrated our economy and military. Have you ever wondererd why the hell our government would allow the privatization of the military. Do you know that there is over 200,000 private soldiers?? They dont' belong to any countries, they have no allegiances, only their own. Do you imagine what would happen if there is a nuclear war, who will be in control? whoever controls those private countries will be in control. As made for TV as Jericho might have been, they showed a gr8 deal of what would happened if it happened.

I still think that this series was cancelled for reasons different than ratings, because for the thought of an inside man responsible for the nuclear attacks had me thinking and i'm sure it had others thinking as well. It kinda remind me of how the NFL had ESPN cancel "Playmakers" because it showed too much truth.

Jericho is kind of right in some things, but in the overall it fails

Only a retard would destroy the US in order to gain control of it, is just common sense, also you don’t need to do that much in order to control the US, believe me the corporations already control US, so as long you have money is do able… Only a true extremist like a General would resort to such a tactic in order to clean the country, but that is just utter bullshit in the end.

However, Jericho was making people THINK and WONDER, and had to be put down, nothing more and nothing less

Which is why i said Jericho was made for TV. But what had me wonder wasn't the nuclear war happenin it mirrored what happened in Katrina: When a catastrophic disaster happens, the Federal government can't do anything to help you taxpayer"
what also made me wonder was who was in control when the governement failed? The private security company-ARMY. Few people know that Bush Sr and 5 other high profile ex-leaders are part of a private security company with a gigantic budget. Few people mention the fact that almost all senators in the congress have personally profited from the Iraq War.

Well, if the US won't spend money like mad anymore all the industry depending on that will go down too.
All the european car manufacteures and stuff. No crai.

I wonder if it really would become like in teh 20-30's of the 20th century. Like wandering families around the country side. Ah, they already have that, guess. Interesting what happens if they can pay up there inflated army budget anymore. It's unpatriotic to belittle the military budget eh.
Pres Johnson already said that the military industrial complex will mangle this country one time.
