    Default George Carlin (1937-2008)

Since no one else seemed to be interested in doing this. I thought it would be appropriate to have a thread dedicated to the memory of a man I, and many others, would call one of the greatest comedians and modern philosophers of our time.

May the publicity of his death help to broadcast his thoughts and views onto those who were either too young, or uninterested, to have ever heard him when he was alive. I, for one, admired him and hope that I may one day be as self-confident as he was.

Feel free to say whatever you like about his life or his sense of humor.

In case there needs to be some tone setting: here's a wonderfully well selected list of his quotes.

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.
The reason I talk to myself is that I'm the only one whose answers I accept.
By and large, language is a tool for concealing the truth.
I think people should be allowed to do anything they want. We haven't tried that for a while. Maybe this time it'll work.
    Weather forecast for tonight: dark.

I watched some of his stuff this year while I was in my dorm. Cool guy, love his tone and ideas. Gonna watch more on YouTube when I have time.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I always loved he was so forward with things, and people loved it! Alot of comedians always sugar wrapped certain things like religion, talking how bout how fucked up america was, but still the best country in the world. George was always fuck that, he said what was in his mind, and its so great!

I'm just glad someone like him existed in the first place.

    (Oh, and I'm done editing.)

NO! He was my all-time favorite comedian ever. His books were also a staple in my library. He shall be missed. Dearly.
