    I've always found situations like this somewhat perverse. The only reasonable explanations for the outrage from the parents' side is that they either care less about the health of their children than they do about pushing their own worldview on their kids, or that they are too dumb to understand why sex ed is important.

    On the other hand, this is fucking Utah we're talking about, so neither explanation is very far-fetched.

    From what I remember we didn't have a sex ed class in middle school. We had one or two designated days when a sex video would be shown. On those predefined days I got written passes to skip the class. Same for elementary. And in highschool they didn't teach shit. It was all in a book and we had robot babies to take care of. =/

    I'd be pissed about her going against the core curriculum(no reason to fire her or w/e) but then my kid probably wouldn't be in the class at all.

    I don't know if you'll take offence, but I still pity you.

    As for the teacher, I find most of what I hear about american sex ed discustingly lacking, so her answearing some questions can only have been for the good of the kids.

    I had one of those standardized sex ed back then. All I can see are internal organs and the teacher answering questions with vague answers.

    kids are always curious about anything new and things that are "prohibited". So limiting the facts might cause problems later.

    ^Yah, exactly.

    Luckily I had a health teacher that had a question box and would answer any question we wrote in it and put in side. She would answer everything including the many bestiality questions people put in side (sickos).

    @R3dknight
    Is that a sublime reference? lol!

    God, another case of "oh noez, not in front of the children" What is it with America and sex?

    Sometimes its like worse then Taboo over there..Other times MTV doesnt show anything but.

    It seems like sometimes its only a American phenomenon..

    Yea, find the sex ed vs MVT in the US funny aswell. On one end they don't get what I would call is sex ed in school, and if they hear about condoms everyone else screams. On the other end they can turn on the TV during prime time and see stuff that in the movies would quite likely be rated R.
