Thread: What does the internet need?

It needs a site like youtube but for videos in at least 480p. That crappy low-quality shit is killing me. Anyone else think that should have been invented already? It also needs a site like IMDB but for books. Not a store but just an information portal with author bios, sales charts, "accredited" reviews, and discussion boards.

But seriously I also hate the quality of youtube videos, I love the idea of the site, and many of its videos. But some are just so poor in quality I dont know why they even out it up in the first place.

But how about a seperation of "files" on the internet? Like, if you are in a need of book, you seach by what you know, but porn sites, advertiments, anything but what you really need turn up. So, what Im saying is there are more then "one internet" everything is categorized so seaching will be easier.

^Advertisements allow websites to painlessly draw the money it needs (and some it doesn't) from its users. I think that's an unaviodable and frankly trivial sacrifice to make for what we're getting.

And I don't really understand the bitching on the youtube vids. I agree that it is relatively poor quality, but why should the site famous by virtue of the google name, its own name, and diversity of vids (which is all it is at this point, note the absence of quality in the list) upgrade its quality and potentially threaten the consumers with horrible connections? People who want better vids should look other places.

No, we do NOT require another youtube. All those users with all those meaningless videos. Outside of the pirated stuff of course....

But if we are to look on a serious note as to what the internet needs, look no further then developing a method to be able to remove ones personal information from the web.

Faster connections.. faster then Japan's, I'd say 10x faster

Thats pretty much all you need, because it would fix a hell lot of problems.

Youtube could've have a 720p streaming site with no sweat!
Virtual storage accessible from anywhere in the globe at a descent speed.

So many things can be done with more speed..

I must be one the few people in the entire world who is content with 500kb/s+ download speeds.
