Default Rumour of the day: Is Kim Jong Il dead?

I read this story some hours ago, but couldn't find that much evidences yet:
    Kim Jong Il Assassination
South Korean media denied that promptly, but without giving any evidences yet too... seems they want to have the control for any cases...
South Korea says Internet report of Kim Jong Il's assassination untrue - International Herald Tribune

Whatever, we will see if the most vicious dictator of the planet died today or not.

What do ya' think will happen if he's confirmed dead? War, peace or another Kim (his son) in the rank for the northkorean Chuche throne?

Some pic, I'll post more about NK later...

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

It seems highly unlikely. Kim Jong Il is a paranoid guy, even as dictators go. Therefore he would be hard to bump off even if he didn't have absolute power over his entire country.

^ Please... isn't there already a SPAM thread for children?

So either that was a big hoax (what I suggest) or the northkorean regime wants to keep Kim's death a secret (they managed to keep Kim Il sung's death secret for two days back in '94 before it leaked out).

The only news I found today was this: Rumours of N. Korean leader's death influenced global markets

    Guess he's not dead ;P

Kim Jong Il is already 67, so he will die sooner or later...

I think he has three sons (of different wifes and mistresses) that might be his followers; Kim JoKim Sul-song, Kim Jong-chul and Kim Jong-woon. Normally the oldest son would be the follower in the Kimism system, but since Kim Jong-nam was caught entering Japan for the visit of Disney World (I guess he wanted to see another arificial county, lol) with a false passport, he fell in disgrace. So, it looks like Kim Jong-chul will be the replacement now(there's a daughter too, but she doesn't have high hopes).

But I seriously doubt that the military comlex of North Korea will be that easy with a new successor, it's more likely there will be a military coup after Kim Jong Il's death, washing away the Kim family once and for all...

Well, you're right in some aspects of that EightBall. Though Jong-chul isn't exactly in his father's grace, for being too "feminine" (there's actually a rumor going on that he's actually gay). However, he does have the backing of the army, which says alot. And currently, the third and youngest son, Jong-woon is considered the favorite, out of the three brothers. Jong-woon is also considered to be just like Jong Il. But yeah, that's all I have to say for now.

And @ the picture, I remember reading one journalist who had the opportunity to visit North Korea, he decribed Pyongyang as the only modern area in North Korea, all the roads outside Pyongyang are essentially dirt roads. Hard to travel anywhere, defenses all along the country. Little to no communication, it's like they're living as peasants.

Until one has given everything, one has given nothing.
